SOURCE: Turn table

Hello Runaround. If out of warrenty and you got the 'want to' unplug the AC, lock the stylus arm, open unit up and unplug your interconnect ribbon cables one at a time & reseat them this includes the socketed ICbds as well. If the speed adjust is mechnical check for an obstruction. Good luck!

The 4x4 will not engage on my 2003 ford f150. could it the dash switch?

Does yours have Electronic Shift on the Fly (ESOF) Operation The electronic shift on the fly (ESOF) system is an electronic shift 4x4 system that allows the operator to choose between two different 4x4 modes as well as 2-wheel drive. The operator can switch between 2WD and 4H mode at speeds up to 88 km/h (55 mph). To engage or disengage 4L range, the vehicle speed must be less than 5 km/h (3 mph), the brake pedal depressed, and the transmission must be in NEUTRAL. The transfer case is equipped with an electromagnetic clutch which is located inside the case. This clutch is used to spin up the front driveline when shifting from 2WD to 4H mode at speed. When the control switch on the instrument panel is turned, the generic electronic module (GEM) recognizes that a shift has been requested and activates the electromagnetic clutch and the relays which power the transfer case shift motor. When the shift motor reaches the desired position, as determined by the contact plate position inputs to the GEM, power to the shift relays and motors will be removed. When the transfer case front and rear output shafts are synchronized, the spring loaded lockup collar mechanically engages the mainshaft hub to the drive sprocket. Finally, the front axle collar is engaged and the electromagnetic clutch is deactivated.

After reading this material I would not think it was the switch . Maybe an input problem to the GEM module .

Feature Inputs:
  • 4WD Mode Switch (various resistances; go to Table 1).
  • Contact Plate Position Inputs A, B, C, D (grounded when closed, open circuit when open; go to Table 4).
  • Output Speed Shaft (OSS) Sensor (Sinusoid Signal: 0.7V-20V, 2.2 Hz/mph).
  • Brake Input (battery voltage when brake is depressed, open circuit when not activated).
  • Transmission Range Sensor (grounded when transmission is in NEUTRAL, open circuit otherwise).
  • Start/Clutch Depressed Input (go to Table 3).
  • I would take it and have it check for codes !

Have an almost new Thorens 158, speed issues, sometimes slow, or sometimes fast. How does one fix this issue. thanks, Tom

This is a belt drive, electronically speed controlled turn table.I doubt the belt could be at fault but it may have some oil or possibly grease on it which might have happened at the factory.Open the bottom cover and using a small piece of clean cloth dipped in Isopropyl alcohol, wipe the belt mainly on the inside clean very, very gently.Allow the alcohol to dry and try the turntable again. If the problem persists,I would suspect either the motor or perhaps some associated electronic component on the control board being faulty. In that case you will need to take it to a specialist repair facility.

2009 ultra classic's electronic throttle. turning

It sounds like you are in safe/limp home mode. What DTC's are set? likely the hand twist grip element but could also be wiring or the control odule itself.

Thorens TD160 super tonearm will not lower

This most likely is a mechanical problem. Does it not work in both the automatic or manual modes? For more information, or should you have any further questions, please visit my website at audioserviceclinic.com. You may contact me direct through the website. Thank you.

My Thorens TD150 MK2 Phono Turntable Motor will not run or spin with the belt on but will turn without the belt on.What is wrong.

First replace the 0.33 microfarrad capacitor take a 0.47 with the same or higher voltage of a good quality and lubricate the motor top and bottom spindle bearings
sintered bronze buses with a ceramic high quality lubricant spray tecflow or other brand .
The best is to disassemble the motor only the top bearing is never enough also to control the both bearings.

If you can turn the platter easily by hand, then so should the motor. You can also disconect the power leads to the motor and hook up a PP9 9 volt battery to it. If it\'s slow and easily stopped from rotating then there\'s nothing wrong with the power to the motor and the motor is bad!

My Thorens speed is off

1 sec is not all that fast.... with that said you can see if there is a control that you stick a small screw driver under the table or you may have to open it but there should be a variable pot to change speed and most likely if you adjust it it's going to be off more than just 1 sec
