Question about Maytag MDE308DAYW Electric Dryer
Hi fixya. I solved the problem myself, it was pretty easy. I just unplugged the power; let it sit for a minute; plugged the power back in; then I opened the dryer door and while manually holding down the door switch, I manually spun the dryer drum and simultaneously my son hit the start switch - you need three hands to perform this procedure - and it started running! Then I let it run for at least an hour, and ever since that it has started perfectly well.

It could be a myrid of things, power surges do strange things to electrical/electronic equip,it could be your motor protector, your cycling switch, your motor windings,hi-limit switch, etc, look over the entire unit and see if there are any suspicious burns, wires burned off terminals, etc, then can you blame the outage on your power supplier? if not and you have home owners ins you might have a tech declare machine un fit for refix
