Hello. First, do not force anything!! Secondly, make sure the battery is properly charged. Next, in playback mode, try to rewind or fast forward the tape--this causes the recording, audio, etc. heads to retract away from the tape and *might* free it if that is the cause. When you open the outer cover to trigger tape eject, do you hear the tape mechanism motor running? If you don't hear anything or the mechanism is truly jammed, it will require a tech to remove the tape and repair/replace the insert/eject assembly. Send the unit directly to a repair facility unless the warranty is still in effect.---Hope I was of some help.---Rick

I have a Sony Digital 8 and when turn on it has a C:31:22 code flashing and it won't allow me to record or play. Please advise. Thank you.

error code c:31:22, means that a reel of the unit is faulty.thats the part that turns the tape.issue could be difficulty in playing back.ff or rew.try to reset cam (make sure cam is on,press a very tiny button on the panel where all the buttons are, near the right side of the speaker) using any fine-tipped object.if it doesn't work, try using diff tapes.if still no go,remove tape, turn cam off, remove batt (make sure ac adaptor not connected), and leave cam w/o any power of at least a minute.if still it doesn't work, service may be required.thanks :)

I have a Sony DCR-TRV250 Digital Handycam Camcorder. Currently a tape is stuck in it and the camcorder won't eject it. The tape unit comes out but won't open.

I got the tape to eject by removing the battery from the camcorder, putting it back on so that the tape would go back inside the camera. Then I had the tape eject again. Several times the tape would not be ejected but I repeated my steps until the camera released the tape.
