By 'flush' do you mean Flash? If so, a Flash gone bad usually cannot be undone.. the firmware may very well be toast, and you will probably be purchasing a new WiFi Router...

I might suggest you also purchase a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply). They are not expensive anymore, at least for a consumer grade one... about $30 should do it.. It will at least give you time to shut down in time.. JMHO...

Having problems with wireless connection to printer. Should I reset router, if so how?

Mary Kay,

The best thing to do is unplug it from the back, count to 30 seconds, and plug it in.

This is called a power cycle (aka a rebooting), and should hopefully fix the situation. You'll want to wait at least 15-20 seconds or so until the router fully starts up before attempting to connect to it again.

Blinking power and link led

Hi There - in my experience, blinking power lights on routers mean faulty power supplies - the Power Adaptors are prone to failure after long periods of continuous use - I would find out what voltage and current consumption is required for your router (usually printed on a label on or near the power socket in very small writing), then buy a replacement adaptor - you don't need to get the exact same item, one which can be adjusted to give different voltages should work just as well if you can match the voltage and power rating your device needs - You can use an adaptor with a higher power rating but don't use one with a lower power rating

With Direct cable ,internet connection can able to get.Through DLINK router and adapter cann't get the connection.previously it was it showing limited access or low connectivity.

This is most likely due to the still having the Media Access Control (MAC) address of the device that was previously connected the modem in NVRAM.
In order to clear this old MAC address, the easiest thing to do is to unplug the power cable from the modem for 15 to 20 minutes. This allows the NVRAM in the modem to clear and makes it able to accept the new MAC address of the router.

After the modem has been unplugged from the power for 15 to 20 minutes, plug the Ethernet cable of the router into the modem and plug the power cord back in to the modem. After the modem syncs back up to the network, it should add the MAC address of the WRT54GL router to its NVRAM and assign it an IP address. This should allow the router to connect your systems to the Internet.

Please be sure to rate my answer as a 3 or 4 thumbs up if you found it helpful. The 1 and 2 thumbs-up are like saying "didn't really address the problem" and "wasn't the best solution"

Just brought a Sony Bravia HX 800 and added a wireless LAN adapter (UWA-BR100) to get Internet TV. After network set up NOT able to access internet. Message reads Wireless device OK Local Access FAILED...

I got the Bravia KDL-40EX713 and the uwa-br100 I had massive problems getting it to work with a BT home hub. Eventually I found manual setting that work. Firstly I logged on to the router and went the the advanced settings bit, then I went to the DHCP table that shows all the devices connected. I picked an unused Ip address from the range of existing ones being used (this sort of thing

I then used the following settings for the other fields (I don't think the secondary dns setting is right but it still works)

sn mask

default gateway

primary dns

secondary dns

If the DNS server ip is wrong then you get local access OK but internet access failed.

Hope this helps.

My n-router went dark indicating no power. After jiggling the cords and changing the power supply, still nothing. How do I tell if it is the unit or the cords? The unit is just over 2 years old.

I had the power adapter tested and there was nothing wrong with that. It was the unit itself that died. It would have cost more to fix it than buying a new one. I was very disappointed that this would happen after only 2 years. I have since bought a different brand.

No website through a limksys router

Are you trying to connect via wireless or wired?

Could be an IP conflict between your modem and router. Although rare, it does happen. Change the
setting in the router to something different. Default address for Linksys is192.168.1.1 - try changing it

DWL 2700 AP wrong firmware install

since you upgraded a different firmware try updating the firmware again with the correct firmware if it works fine if it doesnot then the router had gone bad,,
and for GeminiBS reset the router to the factory default since the firmware was not done in a proper manner may be it had interruptions..once the hard reset is done the computer is restored back to the default so that you can use the device..

Hotspot connection problems

well you can't have IE6 and IE7 installed on the same computer at the same time, so I am guessing you are using 2 separate computers. More then likely it is a program with the internet settings of your computer rather then IE7.

try this app on the system with connectivity issues

just run it and click fix, this will flush all your internet settings and fixes about 85% of connectivity problems

if that doesn't work try reinstalling your wireless adapter, by removing the drive then reinstalling it.

if you are still having issues try scanning your system for spyware and adware

while IE7 handles web pages and scripts differently it still uses the same HTTP protocol that IE6 does, therefore there is no reason it wouldn't work when IE6 does.

Also in the future please post your Operating system to help diagnose the problem better.
