If there are no jobs in the queue, be certain that your USB cable is snug.
If still a problem and there are jobs in the print queue, go to Printers and Faxes and delete your Dell printer icon.
Disconnect the USB cable.
Restart your computer.
Reconnect the USB to your computer.
Your computer should see your printer. Install the printer driver.
If still a problem, let us know if any error messages and please provide more details including your printer model.
