Question about HP Compaq Presario v3000z Notebook

1 Answer

The computer will not power up. Completely dead. No juice.

The computer will not power up. The power cord does not give it any power.  Went to radio shack to buy a new power cord and the new ones would not start the computer either.  In fact the when you plug the new ones in they would just blow.

The jack on the board is likely the fault, and will keep popping the power supplies you put to it. get that machine serviced or replace the board asap.

My acer aspire 7736G was working fine, it's about 2.5 years old, and is used mainly with the power cord plugged in. When using it the other day the computer just went dead on me. I took the batter

You have reached the end life of the battery pack. The battery must have some minimum charge to have computer function even with the AC power pack connected. So I suggest you replace the battery pack as a solution. Any local Radio Shack store can test this battery I am told free of charge.

RCA P52810lv will not power on

Completely dead with nothing suggests maybe a blown or open fuse--first step would be to unplug and look for a fuse--follow the power cord.

Charger failure # 34

Just buy another ac adapter power cord. Are you able to use the laptop with the power cord plugged in? If so the ac adapter power cord is good and getting juice to the computer.

Is it that the battery is not charging? If the battery is not charging, then it might be at the end of its useful life and needs to be replaced.

Not Charging problem

Your battery is dead. Batteries only have a useful life and have to be replaced. Your power cord is ok because you are allowed to be on the computer with it plugged in. But the power cord cannot charge a dead battery that is beyond it's useful life. Replace the battery.

My pc battery shows red color when it is on power

If the battery shows a red color and it stays red even when the Power Cord is plugged in, then either the Power Cord is not charging the battery or the battery is completely dead and needs to be replaced.

The battery only has a useful life then it must be replaced because it will not hold a charge.

If you are able to use your laptop with the AC Adapter and Power Cord without any problems then the power cord must be ok and the issue is with your battery.

Battery won't charge

So put the old power cord back on since you say it charged the battery normally. Why did you change it if it was charging the battery? It's quite possible that the new power cord is faulty. Just because it is new does not mean it works.

Remove the battery and plug the new power cord in. Does it boot the laptop up? Are you able to function with the new power cord plugged in. If so, then your battery is more than likely dead and needs to be replaced. The battery only has a useful life and once it is completely bad it will not charge.

My Asus Eee PC 1001PXD battery won't charge. The charges light is on but nothing happens and now the battery is completely dead and I cannot get my notebook on

Your problem is far more than the battery. Your problem is the power cord. Laptops for the most part will work off the power cord even if the battery is dead or even if the battery is not in the laptop. Your power cord charges your battery and if it is bad it will not charge it. You've been working off your battery even though you might have had the power cord plugged in, but if it's bad and not charging the battery, the battery drains and then you can't get the laptop to power on at all. Go purchase a ac adapter and power cord that is designed for your system. Don't buy one that some of the big box stores sell that has a an interchangeable plug at the end designed to fit just about any laptop. Those will eventually burn *********** board out.

Mine did this, I went to Best Buy where I bought it. They didn't really seem to know, said it could be the power cord to the wall, but they didn't sell them. But they could set me up with an upgrade (and new 2 year contract that I didn't want). Anyway, I went to Radio Shack and showed them my MiFi 2200 and they had the new wall charger power cord there. Works now, problem solved for $25 instead of a new 2 year contract.

Battery indicator flashes even when plugged in to electrical plug, computer recognizes plug-in. Computer will not run with power cord.

The battery indicator flashing when plugged in to electrical plug means your battery is completely dead and won't charge. You're computer should run with just the power cord. Your power cord most likely needs replacement.

If you know anyone with the same model of laptop ask if you can borrow their power cord and/or battery to test it out. It is rare for the problem to be the motherboard, though it does happen.

It may just be the power cord at fault as the computer should run without the battery, so you should replace the power cord, as it is probably the reason the battery is completely dead.

If the battery is at least a year old I would replace it since they generally don't last too much longer than a year.
