Unit powers up but beater bar does not rotate

it gets better:

the beater bar does not rotate but sucks ; so main motor runs
take it apart:
use meter to ring ohms through motor

50 +- ohms across motor brushes; seems OK
connect it back together and power up
beater bar works

assemble unit

does not work

the motor runs on 150vDC
and will kick if it is reconnected even with power off
so be careful

there are two thermo breakers in sreies on the black wire
open it and 0VDC to motor leads
when powered on
suspect a bad wire pinched too hard

all I have is parts list; no wire roadmap
my gut is telling me a wire is intermittent
ringing wires to control is a *****
gotta do what you gotta do
