I try to connect my sony CCD-TRV608 camcorder to my pc but nothing happens. Please help?

Hello, well you will find if you use Windows Vista/Win 7 no drivers for Sony cameras are loaded, none as far as I am aware are made.
But if you use Firewire cable as I do you wont need drivers, BUT make sure your camera is connected to PC via Fire Wire before you turn PC on, as it wont work if you get this wrong.
Bye

Same problem. The LCD screen works, i.e. I can see and manipulate the menu, etc. And it will play back one of my many tapes (just the one). Full power or battery, night shot off, when I put it in record...

Had the same problem. It's ainternal flex wire connecting LCD with camcorder. Got from the repair shop did it by miself and it's like knew. It's a common problem as this cable is bend each time when we open the LCD screen, so the cable become faulty.Good luck

LCD problem

the flex wire of the lcd monitor is already cut ...go the service center for replacement of the flex wire...or to the other service center for fixing the flex wire...it is to difficult to fix the wire if you are not a technician cause that wire is like a strand of hair....

Drivers for ccd-trv608 HI-8

This is the only solution that I have found that really works. The only problem is you need access to a computer running XP. On the Sony website they have drivers for XP. The XP drivers work for Vista, but vista will not let you install them normally. So on an XP computer goto the sony website and download the xp drivers and install them on the xp computer. Then all you need to do is go into your C: drive and there will be a folder called "Drivers" in that folder you will see the sony usb folder. Just copy it, onto a disc or thumb drive. then copy the folder to your vista computer. You can put it anywhere, I jsut put it on the desktop for easy access. Then plug in your usb cable for the camcorder, let it try to install, then it will give you an option to sellect the files yourself, browse to the folder you coppied onto your desktop and Viola, Vista will find the drivers and install them. you now can use the usb connection on your camcorder.

if you are having a hard time finding the files, email me and I will send them to you.
