vista is very slow. the 250 does not have very high speeds either. try connecting through a new port (usb?). you can boot without the drive connected, and then connect it. good luck mark
Its the motherboard problem. Just DISABLE in BIOS option in USB tab: SUPPORT USB LEGACCY - or similar to this. This helps on 90percent of motherboards.

I tried a different cable, thinking the cable had gone bad, but had the same result. It goes 2 sleep during boot up it gets to the bar thingy the it goes to sleep,I still hear it whirring in there though. Then I get the blue screen any tips please this is my only hope in using my laptop (the lights turn off but it still makin noise I was able to install xp on it fine WTF ).I accidentally forgot to plug it in during a system recovery so I'm screwedwahhh!! (I don't wanna format my acer's HD unless it neccassary bcause I wanna recover it with discs. Any help plz??
