Question about Canon PIXMA iP4000 InkJet Photo Printer

All prints come out with a green cast- all the color cartridges are full and installed properly and I downloaded an updated driver from your website-please advise.

Im guessing you may have downloaded the wrong driver. but this would mean the software cannot communicate properly with the printers controller board cause xp and vista have different chip set configurations. ;) im hopping that's all. but it can also mean that theirs a problem with the vram and it needs to be factory rest. try this.

  2. When the Power lamp blinks twice, release the button.

and select Option# 8. How do I print a Self Test / Nozzle Test?

follow the steps and check the patterns, if all is OK then your done. else the site will give recommendations.

A green cast usually means the red color is failing to print. In that case replace the color cart or take that cart to be cleaned, refilled, and tested.

Color printing in pink only. I have done the alignment and changed out all the cartridges and still no luck.


If you don't have the proper drivers, the colors could be skewed. Also, some update to windows could have botched your drivers. Visit this site to download the driver .exe. Put in your operating system, then download the driver titled "HP Officejet Pro Full Feature Software and Driver" to be sure that you have everything you need. Next, run the executable. You should be able to take all the defaults and not have to worry about it. Once that's installed, you'll most likely have to restart your computer, so once it comes up try printing something in color and see if that fixes your problems.

Have changed all cartridges on epson nx400. test shows 3 ink cartridges printing, except for the black ink. have run clean head utility, ink has charged. downloaded and installed printer driver. Found an...


Hi


The ink reservoir doesnt have to be completely empty to fail. Replace the cartridges. Some of the jets or all of them may be clogged especially if you have not used your printer in a while. If there are cleaning instructions in the manual clean the jets and then try to print from the printer's self test

Found this, it may help you Procedure to reset Printer canon MP145 and Canon MP160 with Error Code Message for Printer Canon MP145 and Canon MP160, you can find error code message the end of this post:
1) With the printer powered off but connected to a power source, press the Power button while pressing and holding the Stop/ Reset button.
2) When the Power is lit, press the Stop/Reset button two times while pressing and holding the Power button.
3) When releasing the Power button and the Stop / Reset button (regardless of order), the printer will move into a service mode. (Waiting for menu selection)
4) When the on/off lights in green, press the Stop/Reset button the specified number of time(s) according to the function listed in the table below.(Each time the Stop/Reset button is pressed, the LED lights alternately in orange and green, starting with orange.)note: press 4 times for waste ink counter reset.

Canon i860 won't print deep colors


I had similar problem: everything muted and with brownish tint. Tried everything, finally discovered that I installed wrong cartridge: 6PC instead of 6C. The "photo" cartridges are pretty much the same, make sure you have the right ones: 6C, 6M, and 6Y.

Color printing


Hi, try updating your printer drivers:

Create a new folder on your desktop and name it newhpdrivers(substitute your manufacturer in new name). Un-intall printer and printer software completely. Go to manufacturers website and navigate to their drivers/downloads or support menu. Select your model, choose the relevant software and download to the new folder you created on your desktop. Power down your computer. Reconnect the printer to the computer and turn printer on. Power on pc. Windows will detect new hardware and ask if you have the manufacturers install cd or a location to check for install files. Direct the wizard to your new software, follow the rest of the setup instructions and your done

Did you do a firmware update? If not go to brother homepage , download the update tool and do the update if it is avaiable.

Do you print with generic ink? If yes this prob is because of different color depth. Try to print with the original innobella ones or do some resettings within the printers properties when you print a pic from pc.

You may test the print out by printing directly from a picture card without pc.

Photo printing


It is definite one cartridge is not running. You do one thing - 1. Write documents in MS-Word - select all - change the color to Red. Take print out. Check Printing is perfect or not.
2. Write documents in MS-Word - select all - change the color to Cyan. Take print out. Check Printing is perfect or not.
3. Write documents in MS-Word - select all - change the color to Yellow. Take print out. Check Printing is perfect or not.
I am sure when you changed the color to Cyan - it did not print Cyan or blank page you got.
So you must replace the Cyan cartridge or may be ink is not coming out through the passage. And first you have to check whether you have removed the plastic tape from the head of t he cartridge.
