By mistake, when removing the water to replace it, I turned the cap and it came off. realizing my mistake I replaced the cap, pressed the button and tried to pull it straight out per the instructions on...

the directions state To change the filter you would 1.) remove the cartridge cap (counterclockwise to a vertical position) and pull the filter out through the base grille. Directions state there will be water in the cartridge so some spilling may occur. 2.) remove the cartridge cap by sliding it off the end of the old cartridge. The cap will slide to the left or right. Do not discard the cap. 3.) Take the new cartridge out of the package and remove protective cover from O-rings. 4.) Slide the cartridge cap onto the new cartridge. 5.) With cartridge cap in the vertical position, push the new filter cartridge into the base grille until it stops. Rotate the cartridge cap clockwise to a horizontal position. Its the first part of doing this thats a real pain but after you get by the first instructions the replacement becomes easy if you have any further questions message me back Thanks again Rick

I need to replace the ink cartridge but do not know how..lost my manual

You have not listed the model of printer, however in most standard inkjet printers, once you open the lid of the printer, the print head carriage automatically moves into view and you can just pull out the color that needs to be replaced and put the new cartridge. As always, read the directions that come with the new ink cartridge, incase there is any packing material that needs to be removed from the new cartridge before installation.

Cartridge error

Hi Please refer to the link given below, it would direct you to Hp website where you would find the detailed information with pictures and description, to resolve the concern that you are facing

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00428054&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=441125&tmp_track_link=ot_search
If the issue still is the same, then try this step Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and from the surge or outlet, Then connect the power cord firstly directly to wall jack without any surge in between... Then before plugging the power cord in the printer, press and hold the # & 6 buttons together for 30 seconds and while holding the buttons, connect the power cord in the back of the printer and then release the buttons after 3 seconds, printer would go through few processes which might take 10 mins or more as well but please keep looking the screen if it shows any instruction please follow that. All the best. Hope that it would work.

All the colors won't print. Could there be dried

It seems that you have a clogged printer head.
This will need cleaning.
Usually you can do this with denatured alcohol and a cotton swab but check your user instruction guide to see what is recommended.

I need to change the cartridge on my HP LaserJet 1020, and I can't find the book detailing how to do it. All I need are the instructions................

Step one: Prepare the print cartridge CAUTION: To prevent damage to the print cartridge, minimize its exposure to direct light. Cover the print cartridge with a sheet of paper.Follow these steps to make sure the new print cartridge is ready to install into the product.
  1. Remove the new print cartridge from the packaging. Gently rock the print cartridge from front to back to distribute the toner evenly. c00382111.gif CAUTION: To prevent damage to the print cartridge, hold the print cartridge at each end.
  2. Pull the tab and remove all the tape from the print cartridge. Put the tab in the print cartridge box to return for recycling. c00382112.gif
Step two: Open the product
  1. Make sure you have turned the product on. Press the Power button if it is not lit.
  2. Open the print cartridge access door, and then wait until the carriage is idle and silent.
  3. Remove the old print cartridge. See the recycling information inside the print cartridge box. c00382110.gif NOTE: If you cannot remove or install the cartridges even though the power is on, check the product control-panel display for error messages. If none appear, turn off the power and then turn it back on.
Step three: Replace the old print cartridge
  1. Insert the new print cartridge in the product. Make sure the print cartridge is in position. c00382113.gif
  2. Close the print cartridge door.
CAUTION: If toner gets on your clothing, wipe it off with a dry cloth and wash the clothing in cold water. Hot water sets toner into the fabric .

Replacing the ink cartridge

When the print cartridge contacts are dirty and the printer cannot detect/communicate with print cartridge.

Clean the contact points on the cartridges with a dry, lint-free cloth.

1. Open the top cover of the printer.

2. Remove the print cartridges.

3. Clean the copper-colored contact points on the cartridges with a damp, lint-free cloth.
Use a dry, lint-free cloth to remove moisture from the contacts.

5. Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

6. Close the top cover.

7. Try printing again.

If you still cant communicate try with new cartridge .

Canon mp460 instructions missed

There should be a user guide on the disc that came with the machine. There is also a PDF on this site for it.
On the cartridge replacement lift the top and wait till the cartridges come to the rest position, there should be a guide there, but if not pull them down and fit new ones - they should push up into place. Close the lid, the machine will then reset if you have done it right.
PS make certain you remove the orange film from the new carts!
