Question about Dometic Rooftop RV Air Conditioner

1 Answer

I have a 2001 Duo-Therm by Dometic RV Air Conditioner. Recently It sounds like a bearing is going out. Sometimes barely audible, sometimes more so. I have taken the shroud off, Cleaned the fins, checked all nuts and bolts. but we still hear the noise. Can it be anything else but the motor? Thanks Larry arryL43@yahoo.com

clen fan blades at both end of motor. the temperture will be colder at lower fan speed. depending on age and useage the bearings might be going out in motor.

Duo Therm RV Air Condiioner-Compressor comes on before fan motor

I'd have someone who's familiar with capacitors, (for safety sake), to test your fan run capacitor, and power to it. If capacitor is shot, fan won't start. Have to remove cover on upper unit, then cover on side at front where wiring is, to access it.

Compressor intermittent

Sounds like a bad thermostat. Make sure you turn off all related breakers and disconnect switches before attempting to replace it. Good Luck!
