It probably means what it says! You will need to have the Bios chip replaced, ask Toshiba for a replacement or purchase one over the Web. If you are not technical then I suggest you take your laptop to a dealer engineer, as you will need to work inside the laptop. Be careful that you don,t get skinned with the price €50 should be enough for a professional repair.

SOURCE: bios damaged

Best thing to do courtesy of Toshiba is to try and update your BIOS by going to this page:

http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=DL&os=&category=&moid=1209157&rpn=PSAA0U&modelFilter=A100-S8111TD&selCategory=3&selFamily=1073768663&selModel=1209157|PSAA0U

The file you want to download is the one that says BIOS, it will be the 4th file down that you want. Download it and run it from windows, it will update your BIOS and may take a while. Once it tells you its complete, reboot the computer and try going into the BIOS then and see what happens. Should take care of the problem as long as the BIOS wasn't completely corrupted.

Installation of Windows 2003 server in Toshiba Laptop

Change your boot order in the BIOS.

1. Turn on computer by Holding down power button while pressing the ESC key.
The machine will beep, then display:
Check System, then press [F1] key.
2. Release ESC key
3. Press F1 key

In the bios, go to the Boot tab, and make sure CD - DVD - or Optical Drive are the top of the list (see the legend at the bottom of your screen for what keys do what). Save and exit, then install your OS (save and exit is most often F10).
