Question about Frigidaire ATF6000ES Front Load Washer

Err 57 - No response from machine just flashes Err 57 Checked the resistance on the motor and it appears fine showing 5 ohms at each connection. Replaced the motor control board as advised by the tech data sheet. Still registers Err 57.

    i followed the instructions that you just explained. The motor is fine and it suggested if that is the cast that i replace the motor control board. I did and it still says Err 57.
    It does not say E57 but rather flashes Err and then registers 57 and stays there. Don't know if this is different or still pointing to the motor

    Replaced control board and it seems to initially fix things but I am getting E91.

Sorry for the delayed response, PC problems. Anyway, it could be 1 of 3 boards. the control board, interface board, or the control panel. Visually inspect them and see if anything looks blown. Most of the time it is the control board. However, without actually seeing it it is an educated guess.

    E91 suggests that there is a possible wiring fault to the selector as the LEDs do not light up. you need to trace the wire from the selector to its opposite end and make sure all connections are tight and no fray in the wire anywhere

The error indicates that there is a High Current detected on the Inverter and given the motor seems fine have you checked the Inverter itself and made sure that the output contacts are not shorted or bridged in any way. Try seeing what the output of the invereter is off load and also on load.

What does LD code mean on my whirlpool cabrio washer mean?


Ld flashes when the water level does not change after the drain pump is on.
Is the drain hose or the drain pump clogged?
Is the drain hose height greater than 96? ?
Is the pump running? If not, see TEST #7.
TEST #7 Drain/Recirculation
Perform the following checks if washer fails to drain or recirculate.
1. See Activation of Manual Diagnostic Test Mode, and perform the Manual: Pumps test.
2. Remove the console to access the machine/ motor control assembly. See Accessing & Removing the Electronic Assemblies.
3. Visually check that the P4 connector is inserted all the way into the machine/motor control. If visual check passes, go to step 4. If visual check fails, reconnect P4 and repeat step 1.
4. Remove connector P4 from the machine/ motor control and check resistance values of pump motor windings. Resistance values should match those shown in wiring diagram, page 7-1. If resistance values are good, go to step 7. If winding measurements are much higher (tens of ohms to infinity) than shown in wiring diagram, a problem exists in the motor winding or in the connection between the machine/motor control and the motor. Go to step 5.
5. Tilt machine forward to access the bottom of the machine and the pumps. See Figure 1, page 6-13.
6. Check the resistance at the pump motor. Remove the connector at the motor and take measurements across pump terminals. Measurements should be as shown in the wiring diagram. If winding measurements are much higher (tens of ohms to infinity) than shown in wiring diagram, replace the pump motor. If the resistance at the pump motor is correct, there is an open circuit in the wiring between the motor and the machine/ motor control. Repair or replace the lower wiring harness. Winsheild wiper will not work


The wiper control module is probably at fault ,without test that is just a guess . The wiper/washer switch is a input to the wiper control module. Do you know anything about automotive electronics an electrical systems ?
  • The Wipers are Inoperative
  • Fuse.
  • Wiper motor.
  • Multi-function switch.
  • Circuitry.
  • Wiper control module.
  • GO to Pinpoint Test B .

Voltage drop testing the power an ground circuits for the wiper control module would be a good place to start . Do you know how to test electrical circuits with a volt meter ?
PINPOINT TEST B: THE WIPERS ARE INOPERATIVE CONDITIONS DETAILS/RESULTS/ACTIONS B1 CHECK FUSE JUNCTION PANEL FUSE 16 (30A)
Fuse 16 (30A)

  • Is the fuse OK?
Yes GO to B2 .

No REPLACE the fuse. TEST the system for normal operation. If the fuse fails again, CHECK for a short to ground. REPAIR as necessary. B2 CHECK FOR VOLTAGE TO THE WIPER CONTROL MODULE - CIRCUIT 65 (DG)
Wiper Control Module C294
Measure the voltage between wiper control module C294-2, circuit 65 (DG), and ground; and between wiper control module C294-11, circuit 65 (DG), and ground.
  • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
Yes GO to B3 .

Yes REPLACE the wiper motor; REFER to Motor-Windshield Wiper . TEST the system for normal operation.

No GO to B8 . B8 CHECK CIRCUIT 57 (BK) FOR OPEN Measure the resistance between wiper motor C152-4, circuit 57 (BK), and ground.

The Motor Controller has detected excess current in the motor or electronic
switches. This fault has occurred momentarily.
Primary Source: Wiring.
Action: Check the wiring connections from the Motor Controller to the Stator
and the Rotor Position Sensor.
Secondary Source: Motor.
Action
1) Measure/check the motor harness, connectors and motor for shorts. This can
be done by taking a resistance measurement between phases of the motor
harness at the Motor Control module end. Nominal resistance should be
around 12.2 ohm for Phase 2, 3 & Phase 4. For Phase 5 and 6 Smart Drive
the nominal resistance should be around 32 ohms.
2) Check the Rotor Positional Sensor, Stator brass bridge terminal point and
associated harness for water, mechanical damage or corrosion.
Tertiary Source: Motor Controller module.
Action
If all the above show no signs of fault then replace the Motor Controller module.
Also check for water leaks from the cooling chamber or valves that could possibly
come in contact with the Motor Controller and fix the leak before replacing with new
Motor Controller module.

My Maytag Bravos quiet series 300 washing machine stopped. Won't drain. A message Ld shows. Not sure what to do


Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.
My response is very long and will be in 2 parts this is PART 1

Here is what the service manual says about Ld:

"Ld" (Washer is taking too long to drain

water from the wash tub)

Check the following:

Is the drain hose kinked or clogged?

Is the drain hose installed properly? See

"Connect the Drain Hose," page 2-5. Press
PAUSE/CANCEL to clear display
Also:

Is the drain hose clogged, or the end of

the drain hose more than 96? (244 cm)

above the floor?
See "Drain System," page 2-3.
6. To remove the drain pump: (there are 2 pumps... the drain pump is on the left)

a) Loosen the clamps and pull the inlet

and outlet drain hoses off the pump.

Note that there is a tab on the outlet

connector that fits into a slot in the

hose.

b) Remove the three 5/16? hex-head

screws from the drain pump and remove
the pump from the tub.
Check the pump inlet and the tub outlet for obstructions.
Pump electrical winding resistance test:

-Disconnect the wire connector from the

drain pump terminals.

- Set the ohmmeter to the R x 1 scale.

- Touch the ohmmeter test leads to each

of the drain pump terminals. The meter
should indicate between 10.5 and 14 ?.

----Due to the design of the machine the 2 wires going to the drain pump have be notorous for backing out of the plastic connector. Check the connector of the pump for loose terminal connections. --

From the Ld troubleshooting steps / procedure:

Long Drain

Ld flashes when the water level does not change after the drain pump is on.

• Is the drain hose or the drain pump clogged?

• Is the drain hose height greater than 96? ?

• Is the pressure hose connection from the tub to the machine/motor control pinched or plugged?
• Is the pump running? If not, see TEST #7.

TEST 7

TEST #7 Drain/Recirculation

Perform the following checks if washer fails to drain or recirculate.

1. See Activation of Manual Diagnostic Test

Mode, and perform the Manual: Pumps

test.

2. Remove the console to access the machine/

motor control assembly. See Accessing

& Removing the Electronic Assemblies.

3. Visually check that the P4 connector is

inserted all the way into the machine/motor

control.

If visual check passes, go to step 4.

If visual check fails, reconnect P4 and

repeat step 1.

Hi dear.If you know what you are going to do,follow those steps,other wise call service department.(If you like,you can also contact me via icatci@hotmail.com I'm in Sydney 2144 I might help you to solve the problem) Phase 5 Only. The pump is used as part of the power supply if it is not connected Smartdrive will appear dead. Check the pump ~motor resistance is 33 ohms. If the pump is open circuit, has the thermal onnectlon cut out tripped? This should reset within 15 minutes after tripping once the pump has cooled down. If the thermal cut out has tripped, check for a blocked pump.
Check that the resistance of each of the water valves is 15 ohms 64 ohms (Phase 5).
Replace the Motor Controller, if none of the above faults are found. I hope that helps,thanks
