Hi,

Go into device manager and uninstall your video card, if it prompts to delete installed drivers put a tick in the box and click ok.

Now restart your laptop, the display drivers will be re-installed again, now go to Acer support and download the latest device drivers for your model.

If that doesn't sort it out, check for a bios update at Acer support.

If that doesn't sort it, you have a defective video board, if its intergrated onto the mainboard you will need a complete new mainboard, if its a dedicated video board you only have to get a new one.

Thanks

    Hi,

No need to download new driver prior to restart, just uninstall>restart and it will re-install a standard vga driver, then go to Acer support and select your model and select the video driver for your laptop, once downloaded just install and reboot again when prompted.

    Thats it all done....!

    Thanks

It sounds like you have a problem with your video card & it may need to be replaced but try updating the drivers before you do anyhing else. You could even try a clean install of your operating system as this will be chaper than buying a new video card. Sometimes things just stop working & I'm afraid the most likely thing is that your video card has died.

Can't view a windows media file on tv from computer

Yep, hardware acceleration only applies to the primary output.

You can either use the video card's software to switch screen1 and 2 around (which puts your taskbar and everything on the external screen) OR

You could try going into media player's "advanced" preferences tab and look for video acceleration and hardware acceleration. Turn all of those off, and it might work by dragging the player to the external screen.

I usually put my laptop video card into "clone" mode, so both screens are identical... that works for me, and it's also easier for me to control or see what's going on because it's still infront of me.

Display driver r300

First try uninstalling the r300 driver from the device manager, then reboot. The machine will find and reinstall the driver automatically. Then adjust the hardware acceleration to the highest setting. If these don't work, then go to filehippo.com or download.com and download a couple of video playing software programs. On second thought, go ahead and down load the video software, it won't hurt anything, all it will do is help. Look under the video section at these sites, and download the video players for the internet. This software aids in watching internet based video.

Video Problems with Windows Media Player

Why is the projected video black in the Player? If you can see the Player, but the Video and Visualization pane is black, this usually indicates that your video card is not configured correctly. You can usually correct this problem by changing the video acceleration and/or overlay settings for your video card. To change video acceleration, do the following: 1. In Windows Media Player, on the Tools menu, click Options. 2. In the Options dialog box, click the Performance tab. 3. In the Video Acceleration area, move the slider to adjust the video-acceleration capabilities of your video hardware. Drag the slider to Full to use all available video acceleration. Drag the slider to None to use basic video-acceleration settings that work with most video hardware. To change overlay settings, do the following: 1. In Windows Media Player, on the Tools menu, click Options. 2. In the Options dialog box, click the Performance tab. 3. In the Video Acceleration area, click the Advanced button. 4. In the Video Acceleration Settings dialog box, under Video Acceleration, clear the Use overlays check box.
