Open Question

My sirius satellite radio just stopped working. I can see the writing on the unit, but there is no sound. The regular radio works fine.

Yes, I am getting power to the unit. I can read the channels and songs playing. The unit was in my car when I bought it, a 2008 land rover. I called Sirius and they said everything looks fine and I am going to have to take it in for service. I could hear, then it just went silent.

what year is the vehicle? it's possible the unit could need a software update, for which you'd need to go to a dealer.

Are you getting power to the unit?

SOURCE: sirius radio

Cliff, If you mean a schematic then u are going to have a tough time finding that. It is manufactured by Directed Electronics, so you might try to contact them, but they might not be willing to divulge that info.

Good luck!

Radio shows antenna not deteted or acquiring signal but does not work . antenna and all connections are good, ??

The problem is likely the actual connection inside the Starmate. It sounds like you have tried alternate antennas, which can only mean the unit itself has an issue. What has likely happened is the antenna jack inside the radio has come loose and is no longer making a connection, in which case it could be repairable. Otherwise there are plenty of other 12v Sirius receivers compatible with the same connections if you are looking to replace the head unit.

2009 dodge ram , fm,am,cd,all work fine on radio. but when I hit satelite radio it shows channel 184 and there is nothing.

Is there audio on 184? It sounds like it just needs to be activated. Call Sirius with the SID #, and they can send a signal. Sirius' # is 888-539-7474

Activated Sirius service, unit says "no channels available"

Turn the unit on for about 15 minutes. Cycle through the channels, starting from channel 1. You won't have to go through all of them, but this should get it working. If not, go to your account online, or call SIRIUS and have them refresh your signal.

They make a special antenna that mounts on the the mirror mount for the big rigs. You need a big antenna, as the regular one isn't going to work very well on a big rig. Many full service truck stop stores have the big rig antennas. Try that first. You might have better luck with XM than Sirius too,

Pioneer AVIC 700 sirius satellite radio stopped working, stuck on

My AVIC-F900BT was stuck on one channel and wouldn't change. There was no sound. Radio head detected Satelitte system, but no buttons worked. Found on the internet a solution that worked for me. I disconnnect the battery terminals for 5 minutes and then connected them. When the system rebooted, the Sirius radio worked fine. I'm posting this hopeing it will help someone.

Sounds like this problem is very new...did it start to do this at first or just lately? I hate to sound ugly on this topic, but OUCH! I am just going to let you guys know to look at the manual in trouble shooting. Try to reset the radio...here is a trick while in the car. Open the car with the radio(sirius radio) off, wait 10 secs close the door, turn it on...reset then call sirius and go from there. (RESET)

Power supply to Sirius Radio

yes, some sirius radios work on 5 volts, and some work on 12 volts. Your sportster replay is a 5 volt unit. If you trace that wire back, you will find a cigarette lighter plug with a transformer built into it, with either wires soldered to the terminals, or a female cig plug wired up behind the dash. Whatever sirius unit you plan on hooking up, I strongly reccommend using the transformer that it came with......however if you're willing to take a chance, it's most likely 5 volts.
