I delete things but available space doesn't increase

I delete things from the drive but the available space on the disk doesn't change. I know I've deleted over a gigabyte of videos and documents but when I try to save new things in it, it says that it doesn't have enough memory. The files I have on it shouldn't ammount to more than 500mb but it says that 1.6gb are full. How can I clear space on it?

Dell 531 Multiple problems: - Running slower and slower by the day - Keeps trying to do automatic file backups, but then shows an error stating that my backup disk space is low

Hi,
I think you need to increase the Physical Memory of your computer... If the physical memory is less, system goes slow...

You can increase your available physical memory by either adding more memory chips or by deleting existing software or files. Pls follow this step: Go to RUN, type WINMSD.EXE You can able to see the available physical memory. If the memory is very less then you need to increase the space as I mentioned above. Pls let me know if this doesn't work.

Critical error! Windows can't find hard disk space. Hard drive error -- Damaged hard drive clusters detected. Pruvate data at risk!....What should I do ?

Try deleting all files within the following locations: (In Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer) click "Tools" and select "Folder Options" then choose "Show hidden files" and take the tick out of "Hide protected system files")

%UserProfile%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\
%UserProfile%\Local Settings\Temp

This is the action of some form of malware, masquerading as Windows Security Center. It roots itself in the current user's temporary data folders and as far as I know, doesn't affect all users.
It is also a hidden process but as far as I know, doesn't execute any particularly malicious code, just a really annoying notification (which you'll notice changes).

I have a SAMSUNG HM320JI (320GB). After loading Windows XP Proffesional, I found that the C Drive only has 116 GB assigned t it and the hard disk proerties (in Device Manager) shows 117 GB in "Unallocated...

To increase the capacity of formatted disk space on your computer, you will need to go to Disk Management. This can be found under the Control Panel, Administrative Tools, and Computer Management. Under the Control Panel's category view, Administrative Tools can be found under Performance and Maintenance.

On the left pane, you will see several options. Disk Management is available under Storage. You will definitely be able to format your unpartitioned space here. However, you may or may not be able to expand your C Drive space with this option, it may end up becoming a D Drive, or another letter of your choosing.

If this does not work to extend your C Drive space and adding a second drive letter is not an option for you, you can either reformat to receive the entire available disk space, or, if you prefer, there is commercial (such as Partition Magic), and potentially free, software available to perform this.

Please let me know if I can be of any additional help. Thanks!

Free disk space on Drive C

The swept files are stored up in folders you might not see.

Run disk clean up and you will have more spaces wherein all temporary files will be deleted.

Cheers.
