Question about Kitchen Ranges
The manual states to turn counter clockwise to remove cover and bulb, but this solution is not working, cover will not move enough to open, we have tried every imagineable idea to remove the cover. the cover appears to have something preventing it from turning further which will not allow the cover to be removed.
Try giving me the model number, let see if the I can find schematics for your model..

If this is an old hood present, remove it. First, locate the electrical connection under a cover near the light fixture, and disconnect the wiring by removing the wire nuts and separating the connections. With someone supporting the weight of the hood, loosen (but do not completely remove) the screws that hold it in place. Slip the hood off the supporting screws and set it aside, then remove the screws.
