Question about Garmin Nuvi 660 GPS Receiver
My device has no power and will not power up either through outlet charger, car charger or computer USB charge. Does it have a battery that may need to be replaced?
If the unit will not power up with an external power source, it is not a battery problem. I can tell you that even with the battery removed (I've done this many times), if the unit is working normally, it WILL power up even without the battery when connected to an external power source.
Try pressing the reset button underneath the flip-up antenna and hold for several seconds. If that doesn't resolve the problem, then there is a problem on the main board, probably a failed part in the power regulator circuit.

Yes it has a built in battery, the battery is not owner servicable, and that could be your problem, the battery life is around 2 years, u will need to send the unit into Garmin for an exchange GPS, to get more details the exchange program go to www.mygarmin.com, register your GPS and then select support option, u vcan also call them.
