Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

Lns4051dx/xaa samsung lcd there seems to be some problem with the on screen display. It overlays horrible ''noise'' or static when regular veiwing. Hit the menu button, the large square graphic comes on the screen for the tv adjustments, exit out of the menu and the ''noise'' is clear from the screen where the graphic was situated. The ''noise'' or ''static'' comes back within a few mins. The ''noise'' completely vanishes for about one second when switched between inputs and seems to be worse when we use the xbox 360. Thanks to all.

Hi,

It sounds like your driver board/assy boards/video board inside maybe faulty or the cables have come loose.

The driver board/assy boards feed the display panel with the images.

The video board decodes the input signals.

If you switch over to analogue does it still happen, if so my money would be on the driver/assy boards.

Depending on the age of the TV part replacement will be between approx £100 - £200 in the UK.

Seek out an engineer for repair.

Thanks

About $600.00 to replace. That's why manufacturers stopped making DLP sets because longevity is horrible. 5 yrs MAX if your lucky.

It can be T-CON board, 24vdc power supply, backlight inverter board, main board.
First, look at the screen in darkened room to see if you can see any slight glow from the screen, if it does, then the problem can be the T-CON (not getting the 12vdc) or the main logic board not feeding the signals to the T-CON board.
if not, next place to check will be the power supply module, make sure it has 24vdc which is required by the backlight inverter to work, the reason for not having 24vdc can be from bad DC filter caps (leaking/bulging top, high ESR) or short circuits in the inverter board which will cause the 24vdc supply to go into shutdown mode, so you may have to disconnect the power cable that feed the inverter board to see if the 24vdc will work without the inverter board hookup, you will need to apply about 3~4 amp of load to the 24vdc to make sure it can handle that. There are fuses on the backlight inverter boards also. So there is some troubleshooting you will have to do to find out the causes of the problem you are having.

The Tv sounds as if it wants to power up, the red light comes on, then it clicks and shuts off. What is the problem with my LNS4051DX XAA

Most likely failed capacitors in the power supply. I am currently having the same problem with my 26 month old Samsung LN46A750. Samsung has agreed to fix this as an out of warranty "courtesy repair".

SAMSUNG TV WONT TURN ON JUST CLICKS

I just fixed this very same problem. The capacitors are the problem. However, I think that if you have some minimal skills with soldering, you can fix this yourself. You just need to take out the system board, then the power supply parts are on the top right. The bad capacitor(s) will be bulging at the top and possibly have some brown stuff coming out. The ones that go bad are 1000microfarad, 10V, however you can replace them with higher voltage. I got 35V caps from radio shack for 1.59 each. You just need to solder out the bad ones and then put the new ones in and solder. Remember that the negative end goes on the side with the bold black part of the circle on the system board. Then just cut off the extra ends of the capacitors. If you are capable of doing this yourself, you will spend at most 6 dollars instead of however much a technician costs.

Canon Powershot SD1000: LCD screen display

Hopefully you resolved this already. If not, push the "DISP." button left of the MENU button. Pushing it gives you three options: black (for discreet shooting so your LCD doesn't give garner dirty looks from fellow concert goers), liveview, and liveview with info overlayed (shooting mode, ISO, etc.). Good luck!
