Is there another light in the vacinity or is the light in question itself pointed at the photocell. most likely scenarios are that the light is pointing at its own photocell so when it is off the photosell senses dark and turns it on but then when light comes on tricks photocell into thinking it is daylight, check position of photocell and adjust away from light source if problem persist could be ballast going bad

Replace bulb and heave all cooling vents cleaned of dust. Bulbs on rear projection sets are more like street lights than regular home light bulbs. They dont just burn out they start in and out and maybe fading before they die.

2005 Montana SV6 right front turn signal not working correctly

might try to replace the turnsignal relay which is under the dash i belive, it is round and looks like a very small container about 1inchx1inch...If you replace that and it does the same thing you have a short in the wiring harnes that leaders from the blinkers to the actuatore, or a bad ground, start by chasing the ground and making sure they are all tightly secures with no bare wire/ or pinched wires anywhere..
Hope this fix's'ya!

if it is a gas bulb (mercury vapor, metal halide, or high pressure sodium) the bulb needs to be replaced. they "cycle" when they go bad for a few weeks then completely stop working

If new bulbs don't work, it is probably the harness that holds the bulb. I had to replace both on my car after fighting with the problem for over a year and not knowing.

Problem # 2 is a convergence issue. If you can solder, you can repair this yourself. As far as problem #1 goes, count the blinks. The set goes into standby as protection from further damage when a problem is detected. The blink count is an internal diagnostic that indicates the circuit in which the problem was detected. Report back here with the blink count if you can.
I'll look up the convergence IC numbers in the mean time.
