I only bought my acer aspire 6930 i couple of months ago and recently it has started to play up. It won't read any discs I put in it. When i go to play them it just says please insert disc. I've tried everything I can think of. I've been on the control panel and device manager screen and by the CD/DVD rom drives tab, it says, 'Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)' I would really appreciate it if anybody could give me an idea of how to fix this? Thank you.

- thanks for your help but which driver would i need to download as i cant see which one it would be??
rol back the driver, go to the website for the manufacturer that makes your computer. there will be a list of drivers you can download and download a older one and install it. another this is use a cleaning disk. there might be to much build up on the lens. if neither of those work then the drive is toast.

- well accer doesn't have it on there site. try using a disk cleaner. I would say restart the computer from complete fresh. but i know it won't help if the drive is toast. submit a response on the drive. tell me the brand and anything ont he front. i will see if i can find a driver from the manufacturer of the drive itself.
