You need to determine where the power is coming into the box. That power line needs to be jumpered to each switch. The black of the lights will go to the other side of each switch. All neutral wires are tied together.

### Help - 1 Way 2 gang switch - ie: two sets of lights in same room, 1 light switch with two switches on it, each switching on 1 set of lights. I have 2 brown wires, 3 blue wires, and a short length of free...

I can probably help.
BUT, what voltage are you working with. It sounds like 230V european wire colors?
Now also. Do you have two separate light switches in same box (which is called 2-gang)? Or do you have a double switch, which is two switches on one device?
Add a comment, and include as much detail as possible about the switch, voltage, and number and color of screws on each switch.
Here is a start-point using 120Volt and US wire colors:
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-wire-switches.html#double
The difference between US and European, is that European has two hot wires, while US has hot and neutral wires. Otherwise both systems require two wires to complete circuit.

### 2 gang light switch wiring diagram

I'm sorry, maybe I'm not understanding correctly and completely. First, I'm assuming you're installing a two gang box to replace an existing single. If not and you have two red and one black terminated to your existing switch, all you should have to to is; kill the breaker, remove the existing switch, get a couple spare pieces of black wire, just to keep things consistent, splice the three black wires together, terminating one on each switch, top or bottom doesn't matter, and carry one red to each switch. That's about as simple as I can explain it. From everything you've said, your black sounds like your hot wire, and your reds go to either light fixture. This installation should work for you hope this helps!

### Have a pull switch with three terminals marked 1 gang 2 gang and com need to wire a light, which colour wire goes where

It sounds like you have a pull chain switch that turns on one and/or multiple lightsor light and fan. The common wire would be a colored wire (probably black or red) and the one and two gang terminals would be your switch connectors. Neither terminal should be connected to a white or green wire..
I hope this helps out.

### We have an older home, there are to light switch plates with 4 on/off swithches on each. The switch plates we would like to put in are just 3 on/off switches, as some of the old ones shared light sources...

I can help, but I need a lot more specific info. Please use these naming conventions to describe what you have:
G1, G2 -- the two gangs of 4 switches each G1S1 - the first switch in gang 1 L1 - light, appliance or outlet number 1
Describe how each light is controlled as follows: L1 - G1S1 & G2S1 (one light controlled by a pair of 3-way switches) L2,L3 - G1S2 (assumes a normal switch controlling two lights) etc. for all of the L's presently controlled by all 8 switches
Then describe what you want the 6 new switches to operate.

### Speed switch doesn't work, Hi speed only

CAREFUL, do this unplugged. Behind the back plate (one screw on top to remove) there is an adjustment single security screw, lower center. Adjust this screw out or in as needed. Hit or miss but very easy. Repeat till all speeds work as designed.
