My A215 wont stay powered up. It shut down and now it starts to boot and then the power just turns off after a couple of seconds. Is it a bad power supply, and can it be replaced. I had to replace my power cord a week ago because I could not even get power to the computer. It has been working just fine since until today and it just decided to shut down and now I can't get it up and going again.

Try running the computer on the Battery power and check if the power sustains. If not, then disconnect the power cord and remove the battery and leave it for a few hours then try turning it on.

If the problem exists then the power supply unit is required to be replaced. You may contact service center to get the power supply unit replaced.

Laptop wont boot up, black screen, has power

You didn't post the Make, Model of Laptop or the OS you are using. I'll use a Win 7 solution. Boot the Laptop, open the Control Panel, select Power Options, set to High Performance, select Change Plan Settings, set SLEEP to Never, select Change Advanced Power settings, go through the settings , set SLEEP and Hibernate to Never, Power buttons and Lid to shut down. Always shut down and unplug your laptop when not in use to prevent damage from power surges and possible Fire hazard IF the battery malfunctions. A reboot every day will reset the computer.

Nothibg I do will take me to the boot options screen, It just stays on the opening Toshiba page.

For entering the Toshiba BIOS....
while the system is powering on
1. try pressing Esc and if nothing happens
shut-down and then power-on again
2. try pressing F1 during this power-on
Hopefully either 1 or 2 gets you into the BIOS

I have a satellite A215 - s5818 It started with it just shutting down all of a sudden . reboot and it may work for a while and it would shut down again . Now I can hear it power up but no display on...

his is sound as though your power adapter is not charging your laptop battery and the battery is trying to preserve what power it has left to power up the screen as you demand but there is no voltage to do so.
1. you will need another power supply adapter from what you have describe here and or a battery replacement.
if you can possibly get an equivalent power adapter for your unit and connect it to see if you get power up then you need to replace the power adapter.
I hope this helps. Have a great day!

Toshiba A215-S4767 will not start up correctly.

First off, Windows just didn't like the way the computer shut off, I would just restart normally and see what happens. Next when it boots up and you get into windows, Go to the control panel > Power Options > go to the hibernation tab and make sure hibernation is unchecked. Next go the setting that reads "shutting the lid". You want to open this setting with a drop down list and pick "Do Nothing", this will keep the laptop from entering standby mode just for shutting the lid. Laptops do not like hibernation or standby modes....windows hates it and will give you all kinds of problems if you continue to use it.

Hi please help me with my acer 3003 wont boot

try to power up with power cord only and see if it works. If no lights turn on than your motherboard is dead. If it turns on and nothing happens make sure there is memory installed(RAM). If it turns on and you see windows screen than it shuts off than your operating system needs to be installed again. Also, you can try booting in safe mode by hitting f8 when you initially start your computer and see if it stays on and if it does you have a virus most likely. Good luck.
