Check to ensure that the slide to the window of the floppy drive. that the disc is read is not damaged. If it is not straight it interferes with the entry window. If it is a 3.5 inch disc, I would recommend you upgrade to a flash(USB) disc. 3.5 discs do not have much space in comparison and are kinda getting outdated.

Hard drive working last night now bios and windows can not find it , appears hard drive is dead, goes to boot windows logo run the goes to system dump is my hard drive faulty and need replacing or is there...

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty ?
one bad lead will end with a computer error a computer needs its connections continue its cycle and have an end to function properly

even something as small as an electrical extension or a faulty fan lead can cause this problem

a computer needs all of the data and electrical current to travel through every working device and to have an end to be able work properly

a motherboard and a hard drive any leads between them will fail before your motherboard or your hard drive if its a flat ribbon 40 pin type IDE replace it this will be the first to fail check all electrical extensions make sure they are securely seated even the cd/dvd floppy drives need to have current go through make sure these drives are working

make sure your computer ram modules are securely seated with no dust in sockets also Cmos battery has charge with no dust in the socket

hope this helps

Where is the floppy disc on my acer SA80 - Z970

I doubt you have one. Computer manufacturers have not been installing floppy disks for some years now.

I have a SmartDisk External USB 3.5" 1.44MB Floppy

well you I&hash39; have got problems the first thing i would be looking for would be a bad driver to this device if you are having trouble with your drivers
here is a general look at the drivers and how to update them
if your computer came with a motherboard disc the drivers could be on it
click start control panel administrive tools ,computer management ,device manager look through all of your devices if you see a yellow question mark?or exclamation mark ! or red x
right click to reinstall drivers or
if you can see your usb but its not working
ports(com&lpt)right click update driver
if the problem still persists check the leads that attach to this device make sure they have secure seatings or just replace them they could be faulty from overstreching
hope this helps

Nexxtech usb external floppy won't eject

Look for a very small round hole in the plastic "cabinet" near the media slot (on one side) and gently poke a small paper clip (unbent, of course, first) in to manually eject the disk.

The cd is saying there is no CD but there is one in there and it wont eject.it makes a sound when you try and eject it

Chances are the cd isn't properly seated. There should be a tiny hole in the front panel of the cd/cvd. Push the end of a paper clip or what ever you have handy into the hole. This is an emergency eject for the cd/dvd. Then check to make sure the cd was properly seated and retry. If this fixed your problem please rate fix. If not and you need more help please add a comment and I'll be glad to assist you more. Thanks.
