Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

I have an rca f35750st it has a built in function that allows the tv to turn the volume down automatically when you go to a commercial. you know how a tv seems to get louder when it goes to commercial. well this one turns the volume down to the point where it does not have any sound at all. it takes a long time for the sound to come baqck into the tv. could this possibly be an ic or some cascading sound transistors with one going out.

Hi,

These are various possible solution:

Try a hard reset - to see if the eprom or microprogram on the volume control board has been corrupted. Just unplug the power cord for 4 hours, then try again.

Give it a whack with your hand; vigorously smack the set in various places. This will disturb any cold solder joint around the volume controller board that may be malfunctioning. Cold solder joints have a way of acting up.If not just touch the lead of the IC (TL002IA,TL002IB,TL002IC) with soldering rod..

If it still doesnt wok, it must be a problem with the IC, you have to change the Volume controller IC

please leave me comment, if you nned further assistance

I have an RCA TV converter box, model DTA800B1. I don't have the box or instructions, I am attempting to conneect it to an RCA TV with a built-in DVD player. I would appreciate the code that the TV...

There are a lot of possible RCA TV codes programmed into the DTA800B1 remote.
Try the following three digit codes: RCA 000, 001, 005, 072, 073, 074, 075, 076, 077, 078, 135,
138, 140, 144, 150, 156, 159, 162, 163, 169, 171, 178, 229, 246, 249, 260, 274, 275, 293, 302 in order.

To program the remote. Turn on your TV manually and press PGM (to the left of the zero in the number pad section). The LED should light and stay lit. Type in the first 3 digit code and press OK (in the center of the arrow keys near the top). See if the gray volume up/down keys work to change the volume. If it doesn't work press PGM again and enter the next code.

Note that the converter box remote will only turn on and off, switch the input from Channel 3 or 4 to AV in, adjust the volume and mute the TV. It will not control any of the DVD functions. Your original TV remote will not control the converter box.

The manual for the DTA800B1 is available here: http://www.1800customersupport.com/productdocuments/DTA800B1_RCA.pdf .

I hope this helps.

I have a 2008 hyundai elantra...when listening to the radio or cd it sounds like someone is messing with the volume, turning it up and down.

If the issue you are describing follows this pattern (when slowing down, the radio turns down in volume, and when speeding up it turns up in volume), then your vehicle is equiped with an automatic volume control. This function was to allow the operator not to have to touch the volume control while driving. The volume increases to compensate for road noise. You should have a function control button that will allow you to turn this function off. Hope this helps.

Sound on my rca tv

I wonder if your problem with loud volume occurs primarily on commercial breaks, when you turn down
the sound and then, since the sound, for the program itself, is so low in volume, you have to turn it way
up again to enjoy the program?

If this is the case, and there are no other problems with the set, this may not be the set's problem, but the
fact that commercial material is broadcast at a higher volume than program material by some outlets, so
that while you are in the kitchen, during commercials, the sound of the commercial can still be heard.

Sound Issue

Check the cable box volume. Most boxes allow you to adjust the volume from the box to the TV, and most likely it's gotten turned down. Use the "Volume" control on the cable box to bring the level back up. (Unless the box remote has been set up for RCA, it controls the box volume. Once you get the volume back up, follow the cable provider's instructions for setting the remote to control an RCA. Then the volume control will function correctly.)

This is not the tube, it's most likely the colour controller and system function ic has gotten scrambled, taking this to a tech to re program should not cost more than about $150 AU

RCA Audio Out not working?

You don't say whether you're successfully getting sound out of your stereo or not. I'll assume for the moment you are. Still getting sound out the TV is perfectly normal - RCA plugs have no mechanism for automatically disconnecting the built in speakers (in this respect, they're different from a headphone socket). Solution should simply be to press the mute button on the TV remote - although this will silence the TV speakers, you wouldn't normally expect it to affect the RCA output (failing that, just turn the TV volume control right down).
