Question about Televison & Video
These are various possible solution:
Try a hard reset - to see if the eprom or microprogram on the volume control board has been corrupted. Just unplug the power cord for 4 hours, then try again.
Give it a whack with your hand; vigorously smack the set in various places. This will disturb any cold solder joint around the volume controller board that may be malfunctioning. Cold solder joints have a way of acting up.If not just touch the lead of the IC (TL002IA,TL002IB,TL002IC) with soldering rod..
If it still doesnt wok, it must be a problem with the IC, you have to change the Volume controller IC
