check out if the fan on the mother board if its not running then mother board will not get power.also remove the processor which is located below the fan in the inner side.if the processor is blown then also there will be no power to mother board.the other reason can be the faulty mother board if the circxuit tracks on the mother board gets short it will not power up. --------------------- you can get the mother board checked at local pc hard ware repair shop.as they have oscilloscope machine.on that machine they connect the mother board so it locates exactly which part of board is faulty or whole board is faulty. -------------- thanks. thus will help.please do rate the solution.thank you for using fixya.keep updated.

My dell poweredge 1800 doesnot boot, it gives an amber light after turning on . I have tried to remove the Ram but still the problem persists

An Amber blinking power button indicates a low voltage problem. This can be caused by a defective power supply or a defective motherboard.May also be caused by a defective card installed in the motherboard, i.e. video card.

Power supply is ok but mother board doesnot power on. pressing power button pc doesnot on.

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty ?
one bad lead will end with a computer error a computer needs its connections continue its cycle and have an end to function properly

even something as small as an electrical extension or a faulty fan lead can cause this problem follow the troubleshooting procedure a computer needs all of the data and electrical current to travel through every device and to have an end to be able work properly

a motherboard and a hard drive any leads between them will fail before your motherboard or your hard drive if its a flat ribbon 40 pin type IDE replace it this will be the first to fail check all electrical extensions make sure they are securely seated even the cd/dvd floppy drives need to have current go through make sure these drives are working

make sure your computer ram modules are securely seated with no dust in sockets also Cmos battery has charge with no dust in the socket
hope this helps

The display doesnot come and processer and powersupply fan also doesnot move?

If the fans do not "spin", nor even "rock" slightly, just once, when you connect the AC power-cable, or press the ON/OFF button, then it is the power-supply that needs to be replaced, at least temporarily, to "trouble-shoot" the problem.

I have Dell Optiplex 755 dekstop i have power on problem. Orange colour light is blinking

Hi,
The problem of blinking amaber light is usually caused due to a bad power supply on the computer. Open the system tower and reseat the biggest bunch pf cable connected to the motherboard. its titled P1 and it the biggest white connector. If the same doesnot resolve the problem you would have to replace the power supply on the motherboard.

Thanks for using Fixya

Verify that the light on the power block is green with the cable only connected to the wall. If the light goes out when it's connected to the PC the your motherboard is bad.

Flashing amber light on power button, I suspect power supply

Correct, the only step you can try is to reseat the memory chips. it should fix the problem. the power supply seems to be good here, as well as bad.
confused?
why good? becasue it is supplying the power to the computer and the only reason you see the light on the tower.
why bad? becasue the power supplied is not enough for the computer to start.
Now, the power is going to the motherboard, if you see any light on the motherboard the power supply is okay and then it became the duty of the motherboard to forward the power to all the components. so reseating the cables on the motherboard should fix the problem, most probably memory can cause such problems. so keep your fingures crossed and then restart the computer after you done resseating the memory and other cables, if it still doesnot work. then you may need to use the hit and trial method to find out if its a power supply or motherboard.
we normally replace both the parts in such cases.

all the best.
