Sounds like your computer is infected with a kind of malware/adware/spyware and is having conflicts with installed software. You may need to boot in safe mode (restart the computer, press F8 as soon the the XP logo appears and select SAFE MODE) and try to remove programs and / or do a system restore.

You may need to use an Antivirus (booting from CD with the antivirus disc) to clean your computer.

Good luck.

this will usually happen if you're disconnecting the USB cable from the computer and putting it back on a different USB ports. try to connect it to where it was working before. this is also true for other USB devices such as scanners and webcams

When I try logging in to my computer at the Welcome screen I get "loading your personal settings" then it flashes and comes back to welcome screen then says "Logging Off" "Saving your settings". It seems...

Your computer has likely gotten a virus which is causing this to happen. This post in a bleepingcomputer.com forum lists several ways to remove it. Once you get the computer to start up again, download the free version of Malwarebytes' AntiMalware program. Run it and let it scan your computer. It's a very effective program to clean out bad software.

Hope you're back up and running soon. Thanks for using Fixya!

Laptop logs in at welcome screen after password is given then quickly logs out asking forpassword again

You are not typeing in to correct password.
If you can not remember the password, you will have to restore from restoration disks.
Check that your cap locks are not on and you are correct with entered password.

Hp will keeps restarting durring initail start up

while computer is starting don't just press F8, u have press and depress it as fast as possible on and off on and off. This will let u go into safe mode, remember if u added a program or hardware or software before this problem happened and if u did try removing the program if might have a conflict with the operating system. Or do a last good known configuration. If this doesn't help try this starting the computer with the mouse disconnected or the keyboard or the printer or speaker or if u just added a card remove it. This things might help.

Hp dv9000 will not shut down or burna disc correctly

What error message is being 'thrown'?
If your system boots and runs take a look at the "Event Logs" on your system. They can reveal a lot of information.

Have you added any new software to your system? Have you had any "Automatic Updates"downloaded and installed? WIN XP SP3 has been known to cause a few problems. Try un-installing WIN XP SP3 and see if this helps.

Do you have a virus program and an anti-spyware program? If you do update them and run them. Let me know what happens. Binary Bob
