Question about Toshiba RDXS54 DVD Recorder/HDD Recorder

1 Answer

Re-tuning - Ive just had to re-tune my Freeview and it seems I'll have to re-tune my Toshiba HDD/VC/DVD combi player also in order that I continue to record things off the TV. Unfortuantely I bought it used and it didnt have a manual. It was installed by the guys who came in and installed my TV some months ago and I dont know how to tune it. Can anyone advise how to re-tune the player? Product is actually the RDXV48DT DVD Recorder/ HDDRecorder/ VCR

Can't tune in tv with dvd freeview.it states ext link problem

If you've connected the DVD to the TV via HDMI or SCART you shouldn't need to 'tune it in', just select the HDMI or SCART input. If your TV is also a Freeview device and you want to tune it to Freeview, where you have the aerial connected to the DVD recorder, you need to also connect the DVD recorder to the TV via an RF cable or aerial flylead so that the aerial signal passes through the DVD recorder. It's all in the instructions

How do I connect my DMR-EH57 to freeview

Connect a suitable aerial via a coaxial/RF lead to the 'RF in' socket. Connect another coaxial/RF lead from 'RF out' to your TV, and/or SCART or HDMI leads.

Access the 'setup' option within the menus to tune in to Freeview broadcasts.

I am having exactly the same problem too! Freeview on TV works perfectly so can't be a 4G issue. Wonder if it is regional issue? We get our signal off the Winter Hill transmitter. Someone please help!

My samsung dvd hr753 will not tune to stations? Our region recently switched to digital so we no longer have analogue signals. Could this be the problem?

Yes this is your problem that you no longer receive an Analogue Signal.

This unit doesn't contain a Digital Freeview Tuner so you will need to purchase some sort of External Digital Freeview Box to connect to this unit to enable you to continue recording on it.

Bought a new 32inch tv with added freeview. I have a ferguson dvd/vcr combi which has tuned channels 1 -5 ok but how do I tune the digital channels

You're going to need to use your menu button and do a channel scan.
When it completes use the save option if present and exit the menu.

as long as you have a good digital aerial connected to the recorder and you are in a good signal area then the channels should have been found automaticaly and stored on the machine.. a manual search and store would also work ok.. check your aerial connection/aerial type and any info you can find on freeview availabiliy in your area.. do you or anyone in your area have any other freeview device running ok?
