Same problem. But how do you turn off the toner save facility ?

  • mrjspoons Jan 18, 2008

I have the same problem. New toner cartridge. Toner save mode NOT on. Newest driver installed. But prints gray rather than black.

shaking the toner cartridge worked for a while for me. i probably only printed 300 pages over a 2 year period. so i am wondering if the toner gets old. if so i am disappointed. if not, should i worry about the fuser? i am not getting any error messages.

My "Toner Save" light is on - the cancel button just gives me a copy of "ML-2000 Series" spec sheet. Can't get the green toner save light to go off. I would like to be able to print in normal mode.

There could be 2 problems. 1. The "Toner Save" option is turned on. You could disable this by clicking on the toner save button or disabling it in the printer drivers. 2. Trying shaking the Toner cartridge. (This sounds crude but believe me it has worked many times).

I have the OEM toner and cart and have not used this printer for 2 years since getting it and printing out about 500 pages. It prints faded output with inksave mode off and darken text mode on. So I suspect the toner simply gets hard to apply to the page after a while sitting there.

I have 2 ML-2010. I've used the UNI-KIT refill. On the 1st printer, it worked flawlessly. The 2nd however, it printed (nearly) fine in the center section, with about 1.5" or so toward the edges being gradually lighter. I took out some toner, and the quality improved considerably, but not completely, so the lesson here: don't overfill. I've read confusing & contradicting info regarding a fuse which must be of the same family as Big Foot and the Lochness Monster: reports of some sightings but no clues/info as to where, or anything else.

I hope to be of some help for someone.

Hi,

Not so much a solution but I think its the toner refills bought from the popular internet places. I don't think they are formulated properly. I've read about the temperature needed to fuse the toner to the paper and I think what we're getting isn't right. I intend to try non e recommended toner and see if the print gets darker.

I had the same problem after refilling with different brand of toner. It turned out that the mixed toners were not compatible. I emptied the cartridge and vacuumed ut all the old toner and refilled with new toner and it worked perfectly.

The moral of the story is athat all refill toners are not the same.

I would not advise you to refill a toner cartridge becausethe toner powder is very fine and you do not want to breath in this tonerpowder. When the toner cartridge is exhausted or empty then theprinter will not be able to print further documents or the prints will be veryfaint. You may be able to print a few more pages by removing thetoner cartridge and shaking the toner cartridge in a horizontal position a fewtimes and then placing it back into the printer. This will give you an opportunity to print a few more pages and giveyou time to purchase a new toner cartridge for your printer. A cheaperalternative is to purchase a re-manufactured toner cartridge for your modelprinter.A re-manufactured printer cartridge also replaces worn partsas well as refilling with toner powder.

I refilled the cartridge, it worked for a week. Then it abruptly began to print very poorly. Faint, with horizontal lines. I filled the cartridge again. No change. I cleaned the head and now it prints...

The problem that you have is that the ink that you use
in old/bad quility or you have air bubbles in the sponge
of the cartridge and that block the ink
in order to have a success refilling check the video
this is a simple method
with no special tools and machines

Print from my samsung printer ML 1610 is faint ,particularly on right margin side. This problem has arisen after toner refilling.please advice me what is to be done to correct this problem

Take the toner cartridge out and hold it in front of you with your left and right hands on the left and right ends of the toner cartridge. Then shake it back and forth until the toner is evenly distributed inside, without spilling the toner on the floor.

Fain printing

I'm using remanufactured toner provided with my ML-2010 by Discount City when I purchased the printer and I'm having the same problem.

I have used non OEM toner in other laser printers also with disasterous consequnces so I think you'll have to 'bite the bullet' and purchase a new Samsung toner cartridge unless you can find out who manufactures the cartridge in which case you might be able to souece one directly avoiding the extorionate mark up.
