Question about Sony Ericsson K800i Cellular Phone

Messages saving to phone, not memory card

Hi there,
I'm using a sony erricson k800i, with a 1gb memory stick.

There is 925mb free space in the memory stick and 336kb free in the phone.

Photos and videos seem to be saving to the memory stick alright - my problem is that my text messages are saving directly to the phone. This means I can only hold something like 30 messages before I get a very annoying "text message memory over 95% full" (even though I could comfortably save thousands of texts on the card).

I have scoured the phone settings for how to get it to save messages to the memory stick and have as of yet been unsuccessful.

Does anyone know how to get my phone to save messages to the memory card instead of the phone?

Thanks,

Charles.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Change your download setting to memory card. Its default is in phone so your experiencing that problem... If you dont know how to change it. Here's another option:
  • Free some space in your phone memory..
  • Then download some files
  • after downloading, transfer hat file in your memory card. (This is ti fee again the memory in your phone)

You cannot save images to your SIM card. You SIM card can only save contacts and only a certain amount, it's real purpose is to allow you to connect to the network, not store images.

all you need to do is but a new memory card off of amazon for arround £2, then simply insert it into your phone.

there is a flap on the left hand side of the phone, that you lift up to take in and out the memory card

Problem sending msgs

SMS and picture messages are not stored on the memory stick.
Sony Ericsson phones have a set allotted memory space for messages and other phone functions.
You may need to delete picture messages, check if you have any saved messages (these are saved to your SIM).
Generally, the only other option would be to reset your phone.
To do a master reset, go to your Menu, then select Settings. Under the General tab, scroll down to Master reset and press select. Select Reset All and press yes.
If prompted, the default passcode is 0000.
Please note that a Master Reset will return the phone to its factory default settings (including locking a phone to the carrier if it has been unlocked). All user data and settings will be deleted. If you have any files or information you would like to save, you should either back it up to a memory stick or your computer. Your contacts can be backed up to the memory stick or your SIM card.
