This may be the problem, I am editing video on my HP laptop as I travel and am away from my docking station. I tried to save all of my video clips on my docking station last week and didn't think I was successful, but apparently I was. I will be back in my office and able to try to produce my video with my laptop and docking station tomorrow. Hopefully if I save the video to my F drive (my docking station) I will then be able to produce a DVD. Thank you for your help. Hopefully I won't need you tomorrow.

You will have to have saved the project in it's "correct file type" to your movie editor or your harddrive.

It happens if you are trying to burn the shortcut of the folder that is actually saved on other location. just try to burn the project from the location where it is actually saved and not from the shortcut. Otherwise copy the whole project on the other drive of your pc and try burning it from that location.just see that you actually copy it to other drive and not just put a shortcut to other drive.
thanks, keep updated and please do rate and accept the solution.

How to finalise dvd in real burner

1 Open the DVD creation software of your choice. Exact steps will vary based on the software you choose. Nero and Sonic are two popular choices.

2 Create a new DVD project or open an existing project. You will need a blank DVD or an un-finalized DVD with an existing project on it in your DVD burner.

  • 3 Add any files to your project. All programs have an "Add Files" and "Browse" button in order to add files. To remove any files, select the files in the list and press "Delete." Be sure your project is exactly like you want it before proceeding.

  • 4 Press "Burn" to burn you project or changes to DVD.
  • 5 Press "Finalize" or "Finalize Project" when prompted. There will be a prompt after the burn process has completed. If you don't see a prompt, look at the options menu that is to the left or top of the screen. Select "Finalize" or run your mouse over the toolbar buttons until you find the "Finalize" button. Select or press "Finalize" to finalize your DVD project. Select "Ok" or "Yes" to confirm.
  • 6 Eject your DVD and test it in a regular DVD player. A regular DVD player is one that doesn't burn DVDs and is more than likely a portable DVD player or one that is connected to your television.

I receive "failure writing to disc" message as I try to burn slideshow to dvd within the program

SlideShow Expressions can develop problems when the photos are too large and when the project your trying to burn is quite large as well. What is too large? I can only speak from own experience. I found that once a project gets into the range of 400 or more photos (total) my writer fails to write. (However, I've burned projects containing up to 388 successfully; photos at original size.) This can be solved by resizing your photos. I have a project with 466 photos (10 chapters) that wouldn't burn to disc. I then resized the photos so that every single one was under 500 KB. It worked: burning is now successful. Resizing doesn't necessarily mean that the quality of your photos will drop. I used Microsoft Office Picture Manager and, really, visually there is no difference between the original photos and the resized photos in the slideshow project. Experiment with photo size. Maybe another size works for you. It is also known that chosing the archive option (having the original photos and music burned to the disc) can upset the burning process - but only really when it's a very large project. Also, you could be using the wrong type of disc. I've been using DVD+R.

I see that you are using a DVD+R disc...Some drives can only do + or -. Have you tried using a DVD-R disc? You could also check and see if there is a firmware update from the NEC website.

Not able to install XP on 845 zebronic motherboard Help

In order to install XP, check the following:

For most newer motherboards, your install CD must be Windows XP with Service Pack (SP) 2 or 3. If you have an older copy (SP1), it will lock up in a "Blue Screen of Death" during the install.

The install also requires a Microsoft version of Windows. If this board is a replacement in an existing PC and you are attempting to use a restore CD that came with the PC (marked Dell, HP or whatever brand), it won't install on anything other than the original motherboard.

If you have the Genuine Windows license code (usually located on a hologram sticker on the side of the PC case), you don't need to buy a new copy/license. Ask any of your geek-savvy friends if they can burn you a copy of XP with SP2 or SP3. This should work.

Finally, after installing you may get a message stating you've entered an invalid license code. If this happens, call the "800" number that pops up and explain you've replaced a defective motherboard - Microsoft should give you a new activation code at no charge.

    Hope this helps.

Error when attempting to write disk

Sometimes the driver that is used to burn CD's gets corrupted, you should try removing and re-installing roxio. The only other possibility is a bad CD burner drive, but these are dirt cheap to replace these days, you should easily be able to find one under 40$.
