First boot into the safe mode, see if the issue happens there. If it does, then more than likely it is a cooling issue. Try cleaning the vents with compressed Air, ensure the fan in functional. You can run diagnostics (Fn + Power button) see if any hardware failures are detected.
If no issues in the safe mode, issue may be driver related
Update BIOS, update video and sound drivers and chipset if available
