Question about AT&T E2600B Cordless Phone

Open Question

"Play Messages" missing

The "Play Messages" option on my AT&T E2600B has disappeared from the menu display on my base. My only options available now are "Calls Log", "Base Settings", and "Display Base ID". How do I restore the missing option(s)?

I do not have the code to remotely call my machine

You would probably have to go into an options menu and set a code yourself, Not sure of the steps on your particular model, but that's how every one I've ever owned worked.

Why my uniden dect 6.0 answering phone has announce only and not record message

Check settings. Go to menu / sel button, press once. Scroll down to answering setup. Select. Scroll to record time. Options are announce only, 1 min. Or 4 min. Make selection. You will know your machine is ready to answer and record messages by the change in the LCD display on phone base from "A" (announce only) to a number, designating the number of messages previously saved.

I have the uniden dect 6.0 3 handset. I lost my manuel and do not know how to record my answer message

Which specific Uniden DECT 6.0 phone do you have? There are a number of them. Uniden has the manuals available here: . Phones are listed in alphabetical and numerical order.

If the answering system is off, turn it on before proceeding to the following steps.

If you are at home, there are usually two methods to access the answering system. Some Uniden phones let you set the outgoing message from the base or the handset. Others will only let you set the message from the handset. (Calling in remotely is more complicated.)

To access the answering system menu from a handset, on some models, push the Mute/Messages button. Then let your current message play or press 5 to stop the recorded announcement. Then either use the up/down arrows to select Record New Greeting (or the number that matches the sub-menu item). It's number 8 on the DECT1480. Then wait for the prompt (tone or "Record Greeting") and then speak into the handset clearly. Press 8 to stop recording and press End to save the message. Press 6 to select the outgoing greeting if a default greeting is available.

On other Uniden DECT phones, press Menu and go to Ans Setup. Then choose the line for the greeting (if it's a multi-line phone) and then select Record Greeting. Press Start, wait for the prompt and then press Stop when done. Press Stop again to save the message. If there is an optional pre-recorded greeting, use the Greeting Option submenu to select the greeting to play. (This applies to the DECT4086.)

From the base, you'll do something similar. However, you should stay about 9" from the microphone while recording. Messages can be between 30 seconds and 3 minutes 30 seconds for most systems.

I hope this helps.

Cannot figure out to set answering machine on my vtech, I recevied as gift.

Turn on the answering machine by pressing the on/off button on the base. Set the time and date by pressing the Time/Set button (to the right of the menu button) and pressing Change until the correct day or time is heard. Then press Time/Set again.

To record a message, press Menu until you hear "Set Outgoing Message", then press Record and speak the message (include the mailbox info if you are using them). Press any Play/Stop button to end the message.

Set the various features by pressing Menu to access each one, then press Change to change the setting. Press Time/Set to lock in the change and press Menu to change the next feature. Press a Play/Stop key to leave the menu.

The most important one is "Set Announce Only" to Off for callers to leave a message.

All messages will go into Mailbox 1 unless the caller indicates a different mailbox. Press the Mailbox button to hear new messages if the mailbox has a mix of new and old messages. Press the button a second time to hear all messages. Skip/Quick lets you advance to the next message and Repeat/Slow will let you hear a message again.

Press Vol (up) to adjust the base speaker volume higher during playback.

In the menu, the first option lets you set the two digit security code to access the messages when you call in from another phone. When calling press # followed by 1, 2, or 3 to access the desired mailbox. Press #4 to repeat a message. #5 to skip. Press *0 to end the remote call.

For the full manual, see: and scroll down to 5866.

I hope this helps.

(all this assumes the base is on (connected to power) and connected to a good phone line. Without power it will not work at all. I test phone lines for dial tone with an old corded phone.)

I need to hear and delete messages on my uniden

The Uniden DECT6.0 come in various shapes and forms (many models). On the base you should have a button that says Play (or the picture of a play button with the arrows pointing right). Pressing that button will allow you to hear the messages.
Also, you must have a button that says ERASE or shows a slashed 0. Press the button to erase the messages. You may hear a message telling you to press the button again to erase ALL messages.

Alternatively, you can play them from the handset. You might have a Play/Arrow button which you press to play messages. When you finish playing messages, you hear the phone reading a few menu options to erase, save etc.

E17 and V141

I had the same problem after I moved to my new home.... The main E2600 base/machine/phone worked fine, but the satellite phone did not. It just kept flashing E-17.

I took the batteries out for a few seconds and reinstalled, and when I put the phone back on the satellite base, it found the main base and worked fine.

Hope this helps.
