Question about D-Link RangeBooster G WBR-2310 Wireless Router (WBR2310)

2 Answers

2nd time just simply no power, last time it started working again on it's own. Tech support had no answers. Maybe the ac adapter needs to cool down, or maybe the current in the house is slightly above or below what it needs to be to function. ?????

Hi there!

There are 2 possibilities I could draw out from your concern.
Firstly, it could be with the power adapter that you are using. Its possible that it is slowly getting busted. Try replacing it with a 12v adapter, if you have one. Or better yet go back to the store where you bought the router and have the power adapter replaced.

Secondly, it can also be the router itself but it is too early to say.

Try replacing the power adapter first.

Please try to disconnect AC/ push reset button inside router for 30secs and reconnect AC, as it is possible that router settings got bricked during some kinda of power failure, also if that was a power surge check is AC not fryed, most routers operate @ 5V or 2,5V, there should be power listing in tech specs of router, that came in box with router

The second time it happened, did you also have the AC turned on? If so, maybe the AC compressor warmed up and seized up. But I think you would have heard your belt squealing, if that was the case.
If it only happens when the AC is on, at least you have a good indication of what to check or have investigated. Good luck.

What's your problem? the wii wont turn on

    • 1 Disconnect any accessories, such as GameCube controllers or SD cards.
    • 2 Unplug your Nintendo Wii AC adapter from the wall outlet and from the back of your Nintendo Wii. Leave the adapter disconnected for two minutes. Reconnect the adapter to the console and plug the outlet end straight into a wall outlet, not a surge protector.
    • 3 Remove the AC adapter from the wall outlet again. If the Wii has yet to turn on, the problem may lie within your electrical outlet. Plug a lamp, nightlight or something electrical into the outlet the AC adapter was connected to. If the outlet appears to work, then you'll have to test the AC adapter itself.
    • 4 Run your fingers along the AC adapter cable and visually look for any damage, such as frayed wires or a cracked piece of cable. Also look for the model number "RVL-002" and "Wii" on the adapter. If you don't see the "RVL-002" model number and "Wii" on the adapter, then you are using an unlicensed adapter, which can cause instability and power failure. If the adapter has incurred any damage, you will likely have to buy a new adapter.
    • 5 Spray air to clean out the vents on the back of the Nintendo Wii. If your Wii has been sitting for a long time, then dust and dirt may have built up around the vents, preventing the console from cooling itself. If the console cannot cool itself, it overheats and shuts down.
    • 6 Click "Start," "Internet Explorer" and visit the Nintendo repair page (see Resources) to open a repair claim. If you tried the above steps and your Wii has yet to power on, your system probably needs professional repair.

Dell Inspiron 1420 switch off while on at Internet site and it will not start up again when pressing the on button.

you can first try to connect your laptop to an AC power source via the ac adapter, if it fails to charge the battery, then it must be your battery died. try a relacement dell inspiron 1420 battery, which usually lasts longer and is compatibale with your dell and costs much less than the original one!

Powered off while using. now will not power on. tech @ bestbuy sed was bad motherboard

Take out the battery and only hook up the ac adapter. Make sure if your ac adapter has a green light that its lit. If its not lit then that means bad ac adapter.

If your laptop doesn't turn on then next step is to take out the hard drive and the dvd drive.

Try turning on the laptop again and if it doesn't turn on then that means for sure its a bad motherboard.

Want to play again and turn on wii Console no picture, why

You need to unplug the AC adapter from the wall outlet for 5 or 10 minutes (NOT from the Wii, you have to unplug it from the wall outlet). Considering how often I see this problem, I'm amazed Nintendo didn't address it in their FAQ on the Wii.

This is a common problem with the Wii. As I said, I'm very surprised Nintnedo didn't cover this in the owners manual FAQ, considering it happens almost every time there is a power surge or the power goes out, etc.

Even if it's hooked up to a surge protector, this happens. Power comes back on, but the Wii appears dead. It won't turn on, and the LED indicators won't light. If there was a power surge, or the power went out,etc...anything, this will happen. The problem is with the AC adapter, not the Wii itself.

You need to reset the AC adapter to get the Wii to work again. There is a circuit inside the AC adapter that needs to be reset. Unplug the AC adapter from the wall/surge protector outlet. Don't unlpug it from the Wii, it has to be at the outlet. You have to kill power to the adapter.

Unlpug it from the wall/surge protector outlet, and leave it unplugged for 5 or 10minutes. This will kill power to the AC adapter, and give the circuit time to reset. When you plug the adapter back into the outlet after 10 minutes, the red led on the front should be lit up.

Will not boot up or turn on though it is getting power

The Charger could be bad, Try replacing that, or let charge, then try to turn on. The laptop might not boot with AC power. kinda stupid but maybe. If that doesn't work, the AC adapter is bad.

Compaq Presario M2000 PC

Hi Jonee

There is no reset button on this model so I would suggest, removing the ac adapter and battery form the computer and hold down the power button for at least a min. From there reattach the AC ONLY, then try to power the unit on. If it turns on great wait for it to get to windows then slip the battery in. If it doesn't even attempt to power on, lets look at the Ac power adapter. Does it have a light on it? Is it warm to the touch? It very could be that the ac adapter may have died and the system's battery doesn't have enough power left to run the computer. If this scenario happens you may want ot call HP or take the computer to a local tech where they can test the adapter for you and determine if it is working. The last thing to check is the power pin in the notebook. IS it very loose when plugging in the adapter? If it is, that would indicate a physical problem that won't be resolved unless a tech looks at it. I hope this help.
