In general, all laptops have their memory under a plastic cover on the bottom, which can be removed with a fine philips screwdriver. when you replace or add memory, make sure to write down tech specs before you buy, not to have compatibility issues.

I have toshiba tecra a6-ez6312 on win 7 32 bit. I replaced the user accessible memory slot with a 2GB module. I'm unable to boot - beeps and black screen. Do I need to also add a 2gb memory

Here is the quick manual. Tells all you need to know about memory. Your computer only takes PC 4200 or PC 5300 DDR2 ram. If you mix pc 4200 with pc 5300 it will not work, you can have 1 gig and 512 meg as long as they are the same speed of PC4200 or PC5300. YOu need to check which you have.

I have a screen problem. My Toshiba Tecra M4 has color imbalance because some black or blue colors become red. My laptop technician said there is a problem with the flex cable, but as I researched on the...

Toshiba is famous for overheating problems, blow out your cooling fan with canned air. Also another fairly common issue with the M4 is memory module seating, basically the memory modules/sticks werent put in properly by the factory...i know..go figure. Remove the memory panel from the back of the unit and remove the memory stick/s. Should be 2 of them, be gentle, and then just simply reinstall them back where they were making sure they are seated in the slots firmly, then replace the memory cover and fire it back up. This worked on 4 or 5 ive repaired with similar issues. Hope this helps you as well.

My tecra 9000 will be in use for awhile and then a blue screen with a black border will appear, it says- Hardware Malfunction Call your Hardward Vender for Support NMI: Channel Check IOCHK The System has...

These are possible techniques on how to resolve this particular behavior. Try these subsequent suggestions.

Memory Check - Dislodge extra memory out of the motherboard; run only the module needed to start the system. Reboot the system to see of the error still exist. If the error message does not materialize, the problem is one of the memory cards you have removed from the motherboard. This procedure may take several times since you have to try every RAM to determine what causes the problem. If you have detected that a memory module is defective, replace it.

Adapter Check ?€" Remove installed adapter leaving only the necessary adapter generally a single video adapter and the subsystem controller. Restart the computer to see if the problem sill occurs. Try to reinstall every adapter and reboot the system separately, reboot after every adapter. If the error does not appear after reinstalling each of the adapters, the card may only require to be reseated. Monitor the system to guarantee that the error will not reappear.

Toshiba Tecra 8100 PIII laptop not booting

It could be a hard ware isuse. Try this.

If you have extra memory or removable Ram ( usually located on the bottom under a panel) Try removing it and starting it, with the ram removed. Then try putting it back in and starting it. If it works, it may be bad memory or it just needed to be reseated. Do this also with the cd drive and wireless card if it is removeable.

also try this with the battery, plug it in and remove the battery and see if it starts.

alot of laptops, like computers will not boot if there is a hardware issue.

The Beeping is a code. The number of beeps and how it beeps usually indicates an issue.

you could look the beep codes up on the toshiba website is the support center.

Good luck.
