    1) If you want a blank page as homepage then on the top menu select Edit => preference => Main tab it has text with startup - When Firefox starts click on the right side list and select the "Show a blank page" option then click on the close button at the right bottom. 2) If you want a www.google.com ( or any other website ) then on the top menu select Edit => preference => Main tab it has text with startup - When Firefox starts
click on the right side list and select the "Show my homepage" below that enter the Home page website address like www.google.com then click on the close button at the right bottom. hope this will help you thanks

Click Tools->Options, choose Main tab
then you can set to load the blank page on startup (first dropdown)
and in next field input "about:blank" - exactly like that without quotes

It may well be some form of virus or spyware.

It may also be that you have too many applications running at once eg. lots of toolbars and instant message typ programs.

It can also happen on graphic intensive applications.

You should rule out nasty stuff first.

MBAM !

for a free one its pretty darned good !

From a CLEAN computer download and put on a flash drive.

Copy to your DESKTOP on the suspec computer.

Run it but dont change any options just use what it offers.

When its done let it clean anything it finds.

Its where I always start with an infected machine.

As for antivirus AVOID Norton or Mcafee but try the AVG FREE version MBAM should clean up without buying

Only continued use would require purchase As for too many applications that would be up to you to decide what you REALLY need and dont. Most toolbars are a waste of both time and space and can hog computers down. Maybe a good clean up is in order ?

It may just be a "leaking application"

These are badly coded programs that dont release memory when they should and just keep taking more to do the same job.

May I suggest you download
"hijackthis"

It is a program that can make a report on what you have running in such a way that you can post that information to certain sites and experts there will look at it.

They will then give you reccomendations as to how you can remove programs or fix some issues that may be upsetting your computer.

Dont post the log here but follow the nstructions and help the program offers to send it to one of the sites it will offer you.

If you understand startup lists you may even be able to spot som things yourself that you dont want to run and disable them from hijack this.

Iwant google back get rid of ask

For Google Chrome, go to settings and find the category "Appearance". Under it should have "show home" and "always show the bookmarks bar". In between them should be the website thats your homepage and you can change it by pressing the change button and inserting google.com as your homepage7d156424-57fb-4fe5-aa98-09cae69467e4.png

I am trying to remove mywebsearch home page. it is not on my list of programs and have searched everywherw to uninstall it and cannot find it. help please!

I'm not sure what you're trying to do here? Is mywebsearch youre default homepage in internet explorer etc, and you want to change it?

If so, then hold alt, select tools on the top, select internet properties in the menu.
There you will be able to change your homepage.

If you're having issues with the mywebsearch toolbar, try reading this.

When I log on the internet this pop-up shows up.

You may have downloaded an Internet Explorer Toolbar, and it is not working properly.

It's called MyWebSearch, you might see it just under the address bar on Internet Explorer

Double Click Programs and Features icon in the Control Panel (in Classic View) and Uninstall MyWebSearch.

Also, in Control Panel, double click on Internet Options. Then click the Programs Tab at the top of the box that opens. Then click the Manage Add-Ons button.

Look for MyWebSearch in the list in the Window that pops up and disable it by left clicking on MyWebSearch to highlight it then clicking the Disable button below the list.

Hope this helps, let me know if it fixes the error.
