Printer on our AE-330 cash register has one ''disc'' that does not turn. It seems to be stripped. Can the printer drum be repaired or replaced?

Called a technician that repairs Sharp cash registers. He told me what I had basically figured out. A tiny gear is stripped in the printer drum. No repair possible. Get another machine. Thanks.

How to extend the life of a TN-330 drum kit for MFC-7840W Wireless Printer


If you have received any of the following messages on your Brother MFC-7840W wireless multifunction printer while utilizing the TN-330 drum kit then you may not have to replace your drum, at least not yet.

Drum End Soon
Drum Error
Toner Life End
Toner Low

I had this issue happen to me about 150 pages ago (some text, some pictures) and I still haven't replaced my drum after I executed this little trick.

Take your drum kit out of your printer (make sure you turn off and unplug any cables first)

Take some black electrical tape and cut a inch by inch square off.

Place the black tape over the optical port as shown in the picture below.

Then put the drum back into the printer, cable everything back up and turn the power on.

Your drum should last a long time beyond what was supposed to be a low toner.

Hopes this saves you some money.

PE is an abbreviation for Printer Error. Check your printer or replace it.

We have a Casio 130cr cash register and when we print the reset report, the amounts is not clearly readable. The 1 000 prints over the 100 and is not alligned propperly. How do I fix it?


They are cheap printers and not designed to last. It is common when they are worn or dirty. Clean the rubber drum and any ink or muck from the printer. Check the ink roller. Make sure it is fresh and rolling freely. If it doesn't improve, you just replace the printer as a unit. See a dealer for this. -----------------------------------------------------

Zeros and Fours are blurry


Hi.
This is very common. It usually means you have not been replacing the ink roller on time and now it is coming to pieces and getting stuck all over the drum in the printer. Replace the ink roller (never re-ink it) and then clean the little number wheels on the rotary drum in the printer. That should sort it.

Hi. There are several reasons for this.
The most common one is not replacing the ink roller on time. If the old roller had felt falling off of it, then it will block up the drum.
The second is re-inking the roller. If you do this, you end up with a sticky mess and a lot of smudging.
Other than that, pieces of paper stuck in the paper path are common.
You should inspect the drum again. This is the little group of rubber numbers that spin around and hit the paper while printing. You will usually find sticky muck on the numbers, and you may have to clean them several times. You need to turn the drum as you clean it. Try to use the gears at the side if they are visible. A dry Q-tip is best, as alcohol may damage the thin rubber. Try cleaning the drum again, and look for any improvement. If itgets better on some numbers, then you are probably on the right track. Also, if you could send me a picture of the bad print, that may help also.
