Amana washer model alw480daw doesen't have solenoids,so your suggestion wasen't any help. I had to call a repair man. The probem was the bearing assembly was leaking and the bearing lost it's seal and lubrication, so after it would spin it got hot and would stop while the motor spun and melted the belt.

Sounds like drum pulley / drum is sticking could be sock in drum, Can you turn it by hand , is it noisy...The drum sticks and motor keeps driving which burns out the belt..Hope that helps you...

Lost connection with you on first live chat,i think microsoft updates i recieved earlier are to blame, tracked your name and im here, remove the belt, spin the water pump pulley should be free and smooth, try to wobble pulley to check bearing wear, you should see two mechanical arms that are controlled by solenoids, they switch the functions from wash to spin to discharge water, ect, reinstall the belt run it through the cycles watching the solenoids they should move the arms smoothly and hold their position until the next cycle is reached,i thnk once you observe thid it will be obvious what is wrong, sometimes the solenoids fail and cant maintain position ,sometimes the mechanical levers get worn an jam up during the switch, let me know what you see, send me a comment if you have any questions, sorry about the droped chat session ,i am currently resolving the problem, aloha from maui todd0708

I have an Amana model NDG7800AW. A few weeks ago

The roller to the belt tensioner is binding causing to make the warbling noise. The bearing needs to be replaced which comes with the roller. A new belt is advisable as well when replacing. The stalling problem could be also from the belt being stretched or the timer relay is weak

Good day,
Sounds as if the relay has failed again. ....or when relays start going bad, it could be an issue with the internal part of the compressor.
But the relay approach should be your first step.

Just got alternater replaced a couple of months ago and its starting to squeel again like last time and the battery light keeps flickering on and off

The alternator drive belt is loose or worn out. If the alternator is driven off a serpentine belt then replace the belt. Inspect the serpentine belt tensioner and replace if necessary. On an 18 year old car it is more than likely defective. If it is driven off a standard drive belt then adjust the alternator to tighten the belt. Inspect the belt for fraying and or cracks and replace if you see any.
