The water will not go into tub, keeps overflowing and flooding my laundry room

If the water will stop filling when you stop the machine, then you need to replace the "pressure switch" on the unit. Here is the part to order.

If you have to turn the water off at the faucet to get it to stop filling, then you need to replace the "water inlet valve" on the unit. Here is that part to order.

My GE washing machine keeps over filling, flooding the room if we don't stop it. Where is the mechanism that measures and turns of water?

If the machine starts to agitate and the water does not shut off replace the water inlet valve. Now if the machine fills and does not agitate, then clean the pressure sensor tubing and the line coming off the tub. Hope this helps Tim

The washer water won't turn off once it has filled for all three load sizes.

Might be the water inlet valve at the back of the machine where the hose connects too, replace the valve and see if that fixes the prob

Water sometimes does not shut off. flooded twice. happens intermittently.

If when the machine is flooding if you turn off power to the machine and it continues to fill: replace water inlet valve. If flooding water stops filling when power is interupted: clean out the end of the water level switch tube where it connects to the outer wash tub.
