Re: Acer Web Cam
Ok You can plug in your web cam and then go into your control panel to the add new hardware and click on that if you are using Xp make sure cam is plugged in and you are online click the add new hardware icon. That should install the drivers for the cam just make sure you are online. If not can you find the Cd that cam with your web cam? some don't come with one so it should work by doing steps above. If that don't work go into your device manager and see if you notice any yellow question marks, if you see any click on the device it mark is by and go into properties and update make sure your online when you do this. I hope it works for you, If not let me know and I'll try to help asap Ok and Happy Holidays to you and yours.

You may uninstall the web cam driver from the Device Manager then restart the Computer. After restarting the Computer, please reinstall the web cam driver. You may locate the Web cam driver under the Imaging Devices category in the Device Manager. If the issue persists then you may perform System Restore to restore the system files to the time when the web cam worked normally.
hey hi ...i have Acer aspire one model no. ZG5 showing problem in its web cam.. couple of days before it was working perfectly alright.. then unfortunately i deleted my audio driver some how and after that i put the CD n recovered my system since this system recovery my web cam is not working.. i have linux fedora installed in my laptop..[by the way i m new user of linux so dont know its features and options rightly] its messenger is not showing me my web cam option on a chat window.. please help me.. it seems to me that there is some driver missing or may be web cam is disable.. but m fail to find the problem... kindly help me..
Like with most laptop web cams the supplier doesn't always install usable software. As long as it opens and you can see yourself the cam will work with any of the know messaging programs. To use it independently of the internet, go into the control panel and system and then hardware and find the manufacturer of the web cam device itself, ie logitec. Then go to that companies web page, and most have some free web cam software that you can download and use for creating video on the laptop.
How can I reinstall my acer orbi cam my daughter deleted it and now I cant get it back, can you please help and I have Windows Vista or can you suggest some better that will work with windows vista cause it was not working
Start - Programs - look for Acer Empowering technology Acer E-recovery - choose Restore - choose Apps and Drivers at the bottom of Restore tab (it will say extracting) - once extracted - click Install - click Vista on the left - click Drivers - click Camera or CCD - on the right side of the screen, click a phrase that has something like "Install now", follow on screen instructions.
** Note ** When the My Pictures or Pictures folder gets full, camera will not work - Cut and Paste all pictures in that folder to another folder and restart Orbicam program.
