Door does not open on the Hitachi DZ-MV550E PAL

The door does not open so unable to put new media in. Essentially it means that the device is useless. There is power but it does not play anything as the media is not recognised - battery indictor ok and the bleeps come on when you switch it on and off. I think I just need to eject the media and it may be ok from there or could be electrical?

Your expertise would be highly appreciated as I miss this camera.
