Error code U140 check ink because I used a non-OEM cartidge

Error code U140 check ink because I used a non-OEM cartridge. I ave tried pressing the reset button, turning it off and unplugging but no luck. How do I get it to print?

You need to buy the ink with the new chip installed, or buy a resetter. The only way to print now is with a new cartridge either Canon, or with a new chip.

Here is your solution.
1. If your replace only one cartridge follow the step. = Press Stop/Reset button for 5 seconds............. after that your printer will start its process. 2. If your replace both cartridge follow the step: = Press Stop/Reset button for 5 seconds ............ after 5 seconds wait for few seconds. Your printer will show the same error, so press for 5 seconds again.... thanks

check in bottom of the ink cartidge u must have to remove plastic strip.then also check u proper fixed ink cartridge in ink tank as matching color.
re-seating the cartridge may temporarily fix the problem but it will not last. but if even that doesnt give u relief.... then its a hardware failure and wud service is required at this point. contact Hp...

hi try to install a new driver from here http://support-my.canon-asia.com/EN/search?canonsearch=1&lang=EN&category=Multifunctional+Printers&series=PIXMA&model=PIXMA+MP160&menu=Download otherwise ur error code means The ink cartridges are not installed or a non-supported ink cartridge is installed, or the ink cartridges are not installed properly. Install cartridges properly. so try to clean the cartridge pinout well by using Acetone or something like that also try to clean the pinout of the cartidge mount inside the printer when it's power is off.

This indicates that you have a potentially defective ink cartridge. Pull out the cartridges and make sure that all wrapping has been removed from the nozzles and that the top side wrapping has been removed from the breather area on top. Reinsert the cartridges and make sure they snap into place.
If you are using non-OEM cartridges I would try OEM cartridges. Sometimes, non-OEM cartridge ink will gum up the printer.

Dell 924 all in one printer cannot remove low ink warning

This happens if you are not using the Dell ink Cartiridges. However there are few work arounds on this issue.

Firstly, Please try to remove cartridges and then clean cartridge slots and make sure that printer is OFF and completed disconnected from Computer. Remove the cable between Printer and Computer while you do this.

After that restart the computer and then try to reconnect every thing and check if this happens


if else, then open the printer properties or printing preferences and locate the option that says Calibrate the cartidges. and do the calibration of cartidges. Calibration is compulsory once if you replace the ink cartidges.

if still fails then reinstall printer software. This should resolve the issue.

Compatibility of Ink cartidge.


The MP600 does not use the 40 or 41 cartridges, it uses individual color (and black) ink tanks. But other models (MP190, MP460, MP470, etc) do use these cartridges. The error message you are receiving indicates that the printer does not recognize the cartridge you installed as a valid black ink cartridge. This can mean that either the cartridge is faulty, or that the printer has a problem.
I would suggest trying another new cartridge, and if you still get the same error, to contact Canon for support options if the unit is still in warranty.

Error code 5100 on my Pixma iP6600D.


I had the exact problem described and it was the following:
one of the ink cartidges had popped out of place "inside" the printer housing on the right hand side, and was catching as the printer tried to start up.
By using a thin object such as a ruler, I could press the ink cartridge back into place to allow the ink cartidges to come out from the printer side area. Once out I properly reseated the ink and all seems fine.

Black ink cartidge


If a black cartridge will not print, with no error messages, it is probably th printhead. Clean it with proper cleaning solution. Refilled ones if done yourself or by someone else, can also have air bubbles, Try blowing down refill hole with tissue under the cartridge to stop ink spills. Also, if you press a folder non scented wipe under the cartridge firmly, you should get a solid little black line or impression. This will tell you if the ink is getting down ok. Try reprinting.
