I have no pic or sound except a chirping noise , sounds like a cricket , LOL , timer light stays red , there was a odor , like a burnt smell

Hello. The chirping probably indicates a shorted transistor or diode, and the burnt smell usually indicates a blown capacitor or a burnt resistor, or multiple damaged parts. I would have to see the TV to be of any further assistance. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Good luck.

When checking diodes, resistors, transistors am I just checking continuity??

No a resistor should measure to the value it is rated. Diodes have a anode to cathode resistance and vice versa. Transistors have a base collector and emitter internal connection. Take electronics classes to learn difference s.

Mitsubishi model WD-52525 purple lines across screen

Rolling lines are color bars that scroll from the top of the screen to the bottom and generally represent a malfunction of one or more raster patterns. The TV picture is made up of scanning lines; however yours has an additional color line moving in between the normal synchronization process. Various electronic elements such as resistors, capacitors, diodes, and resistors, may change in value over time. Changes can make various electronic functions change from a normal routine to an abnormal routine such as you are seeing on the TV. If the problem is too difficult to put up with, you can have the mainboard or video RGB projection tubes replaced if found defective by a professional technician. Other than that, you cannot fix the problem yourself.

I have a tredmill that quit.Is there a fuse that could be blown and where is it?

1) Unplug the machine, and test the fuse.
2) See is if there some componenet BURN, such: resistor, diode, capacitor, triac, or SCR. AND tEST IT.
3) See the block diagram, the fuse can be located in the boards, or near to the main switch.
God bless you

The C4460 transistor burnt.I replaced it with an NTE2594 but the same problem happens. Can anyone tell me what I must check before fitting another transistor?

I have the same transistor failed, and the capasitor in the snubbing circuit also failed, I also think there was a cold solder joint on a snubbing resistor. Snubbing circuit opens and then the flyback from the transformer blows out the transistor.
deff a snubbing circuit is a combination of resistor capacitor and possibly diode that absorb the high voltage spike when the transistor turns off.

Dead Set after power surge

Check the power supply transformer primary driver transistor and the associated components (some diodes and capacitors, resistors, an optocoupler maybe) and the rectifier diodes (or a bridge) and capacitors at the transformer secondary, what you are looking for is a short circuit, however, the short may as well be in another section of the circuit board (a shorted component may sometimes have signs of damage caused by heat, but this is not a rule).

Hope you can find out what it is...

Try these simple trick to find out yor remote control working or not....
Point the remote control towards the Camera of a Mobile Camera phone, with the camera on. While pressing remote, we can see a light (Infra Red) coming from its IR LED through the Mobile Camera if the Remote is working.
If the problem with the component that mentioned by you, write down the Number written on that and replace it with the same by the help of a Soldering Iron.
Also see the writing near to it for finding out what the component is.... For eg. C=Capacitor, R=Resistor, TR or Q=Transistor, IC=Chip, D=Diode etc.

Hello, you (tech) can try this remedy - 1500 = fuse (250V/4A) - 3523 = resistor (47R) - 3527 = resistor (0.22R) - 3532 = resistor (2.2K) - 6500 = diode GBU4JL7002 - 6523 = diode 1N4148 - 7520 = circuit TEA1507P/N1 - 7522 = transistor BC847B - 7521 = transistor STP10NK80ZFP - 6526 = diode BZX384-C22 - 7515 = optocoupler TCET1104-G - 3526 = resistor (0.15R). - 3526 = resistor (0.22R).
