Just assembled 76700 Model Vivitar Telescope, not getting an image through the viewer.

Put the diagonal into the focuser and then put the eyepiece that has the largest number written on it into the diagonal. DO NOT USE the 2 x barlow if you have one. Take the lens cap off!

Practice focusing on a distant object during the day time by slowly turning the focuser knob right and or left until you get a sharp image.

Sorry, but there is no auto focus or fixed focus lens available for your camera. You might consider purchasing an inexpensive fixed focus camera for your photo-challenged husband -- it will cost considerably less than an extra Nikon lens would.

Looking through the lense is blurry and the camera won't auto focus

First check to see if the lens is set to manual focus (m) or auto focus (a). Failing that, remove the lens and carefully wipe the contacts on both the lens and the camera body, refit the lens and try again.

The viewers are seeing me blurred

If the webcam has a ring on the front of the lens trying turning it while on the free webcam test site. You can see the focus change as you adjust it. Also try the free tips in the article How to Improve Your Webcam Video Quality. Lighting makes a huge difference.

Dropped camera. The viewer works, the recorder works - but the picture comes out blurred. I can hear it trying to adjust itself.

Hi there the camera lens guide pin is damaged after drop down. Thats why you get a noise for focusing the lens but it did't focus. After that the result is blur image. You must change the guide pin from service center. After that it will work start properly. Thanks.70ed0c8.jpg

Camera lens damaged, have a dark shade on left edge of viewer

If you are able to take photos then I suggest you make a few to figure out if they are also dark like the viewer edge. If they are OK, enjoy the camera while it lasts and perhaps you can adapt to not having a clear view to the edge. I recommend against spending the money to repair this camera as it will likely exceed the cost of replacing the camera.

When turning on power lcd says acess ,lens opens and closes . then lcd says turn off power and on again.also little orange light indicater at eye viewer flashes.sony cyber-shot dsc-w30.

I had the same problem. Your focus is stuck.
Try to free the focus from whatever (sand, dust, etc.) by hitting the camera. Start gentle, and if it doesn't work, hit it hard...the DSC-W30 is very rugged , that was my experience!
Greetings from Germany and good luck!

The lens cannot automatically focus

Hi pablo_cornel, One simple question, is the camera in manual focus mode. On the right of the lens mount, as you look at the camera is a switch that reads AF and M. If that switch is set to M you are in manual focus mode. Also, does the 18-55 mm lens have a manual override switch?

It sounds like the optics in the lens are no longer calibrated. It needs to be looked at by a professional.

Flashing "f--"

"F-- means the CPU in your AF camera body cannot communicate with the CPU inside your lens. That means either your lens is an older manual-focus one and has no CPU or there is some electronic communication problems.

If you have an AF lens on your camera and still get F--, I would first clean the electronic contacts in the lens mount area, on both the body and the lens."

Hope this helps!
