Question about Kenmore 24032\24036 Top Load Washer
If you've confirmed that the lid switch is good and the motor coupling is intact, it sounds like you have a either bad drive motor, or drive motor switch. If the motor is humming, however, more than likely the switch is working The following link explains how to replace the motor:
The part number for the drive motor (which includes the switch) is 3352287. The cheapest place I found it listed was at searspartsdirect.com for about $135.
If you do determine that the switch is bad, the part number is 8529896. The cheapest place I found it listed was pcappliancerepair.com for about $62.
If you have questions, or require additional assistance, please let me know. I hop this helps you.
NOTE: It still may be a good idea to replace the motor coupling while you have the washer apart. The part number is 285753A. Appliancepartspros.com carries it for about $11.
