If your motor and compressor isnt running then replace the control. If the compressor tries to run but kicks out then you need to replace the fan. You can always bypass the thermostat to check everything before you guess at it.

Hi,

Many times a freezer and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many other things that can go wrong.

If you are hearing a clicking or buzzing then check out the last two tips.

If your refrigerator is running but warm, then...

Check out these tips that I wrote about that... it is a great place to start trouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then calling a repair person to do a simple thing for you...

My uline refrigerator won't get cold at all. Was

If the refrigeration motor is running and it is not getting cold then it probably is low on freon the gas that is used for refrigeration. Also if the motor only runs for a few minutes then stops it is possible that the cold control is bad, This is a common problem in refrigerators and can be fixed by replacing the control. First you must determine that the motor is in fact running. If the motor is running the motor should feel warm to the touch after 10 to 20 minutes of operation, and you should feel some cooling in the refrigerator on the cooling or evaporator coil. If the motor is running and getting warm or hot and you feel no or very little cooling then it is in fact ether low on freon or a component in the refrigeration system is malfunctioning. Freon can only be replaced by a certified technician.

My u-line 75rfb-00 refrigerator wont get cold the light comes on the motor sounds as if its working but it only gets cool not cold ?

Then you need to see if the compressor is running or is it the fan? You migh be hearing the compressor come on for a short while. The fan might not be running. Replace the fan if its not running

Unit not running, not cooling electronic

To operate, a refrigerator needs electricity. If the refrigerator's light doesn't work and it's motor doesn't run:

1) Check the power. Make sure the receptacle works (plug in a working lamp or a circuit tester). If the receptacle doesn't work, check for a tripped circuit breaker or blown fuse.

2) Be sure the cold control is turned on.

3) If you discover that the refrigerator is plugged into a working outlet and the cold control is on but the device shows no signs of life, leave the door closed to retain the cold air and call an appliance repairperson

Water dispenser not working & fridge and freezer not getting cold

okay, most likely, your problem is your fan motor, its making your evaporator becoming a block of ice freezing your water lines but its not circulating the cold air through your refrigerator. remove the panel from inside the freezer and see if it has become a big white block of ice and the fan motor is turning. some fan motors will not work with the door open so you must manually press the light switch and see if the fan is blowing air.
if fan blades are not turning, replace the fan motor. but if it is blowing air and there's a big block of ice, unplug your fridge and let it thaw out. if after melting your fridge is running again, there's something wrong with your defrost system. that means check and replace your defrost heating element, defrost thermostat and or defrost timer.
i hope that helps with your problem. good luck!

Ice maker stopped working, plus fridge not cold, but freezer o.k.

I would check that fan motor in the freezer section is running. it distributes cold air from freezer into refrig section also if this motor is running the top portion of freezer will not get cold enough to allow ice production. the motor is easy to repl and is mod# specific you should be able to buy one online.

Kitchenaid refrigerator w/bottom freezer french doors

please check the air flow to the refrigerator side. it could be a stuck damper motor or damper thermostat. if the fan inside the freezer is running, you should be able to feel cold air coming out off the vents in the refrigerator side. you might have to press the button light switch on the panels to run the fan.
