Question about Toshiba Satellite 4090XDVD Notebook
You do not clean any hard drive, ever, they are sealed and very sensitive, just opening the sealed case will viod any warranty, and the drive will be ruined,if opened for even a minuite and re assembled would allow enough dust particles inside to cause major problems, now if you mean running a disc cleanup utility program on the computer to remove unecessary files thats dirrerent,xp or vista should be the same, click start find the my computer icon, click on it,look for your main hard disk drive, usually labeled C/drive right click on it scroll down to properties click and on the next screen you should see the properties for your main drive and down in the lower right corner should be a button that says disk cleanup, click on it,it may take a minuite or two, depending how much stuff is on it,but when it pops up with the list of files to be cleaned ,check every box no need to view files ,everything that you see can be safely removed, your computer will run fine and no personal files or programs are affected, its all garbage, hope this helps you, aloha from maui todd0708
