I need to know what torque seeting is required when bolting two plates together the two plates are 12mm and are secured with 3 x 12mm galvanised bolts

well if i remember corectly you need to remove the axccell shafts by unbolting the flange plate behind the spindles
but just remember if you are removing the carrier you will require torque specs so it might be a good idea to buy a haynes manule better knowen as a bible for your truck in it you will find some really good info from a - z on how stuff comes apart and the torque specs to put it back together with little things like lube quasntities and the way you fill some fluids

How to install a clutch kit on my 1994 mitsubishi mighty max


Disconnect the battery, disconnect the Hydraulic Line from the Slave Cylinder, Remove the Starter (2 bolts, 2 wires. Bolts are 14mm, 1 wire is 12mm, 1 plugs in), Remove the Driveshaft(s) (4 12mm bolts) Remove the 6 bolts from the bellhousing (4 are 14mm, 2 are 10mm)
Remove the bolt from the Transfer Case Mount, 12mm (only if it's a 4WD, if it's 2WD this doesn't apply), remove the 2 bolts that hold the Transmission Mount to the Crossmember (12mm or 14mm, it varies)
Slide the transmission back on the crossmember, away from the engine, I recommend running a ratchet strap across the frame to balance the transmission.
Remove the Pressure Plate from the Flywheel (Six 10mm bolts), Inspect the Pilot Bearing (if it needs replaced, you'll need to remove the Flywheel which is held on with six 18mm bolts, drive out the old bearing and drive in the new one, reinstall the flywheel, using Threadlocker on the bolts, torque the bolts to 100 ft lbs) Install the new clutch disc and Pressure Plate, with the centering tool inserted through the disc into the pilot bearing. Use thread locker on the pressure plate bolts and torque them to 20 ft lbs. Remove the centering/alignment tool after you've bolted it together
Remove old Throw Out bearing from input shaft on the transmission and slide the new one on. Slide the Transmission forward (make sure the input shaft slides into the pilot bearing, don't force the transmission into place or you could damage the clutch disc or break the input shaft) Torque the Bellhousing Bolts to 40 ft lbs (4 14mm bolts), Torque the 2 10mm bolts to 14 ft lbs, Install the Starter (torque bolts to 23 ft lbs), Reconnect Hydraulic Line to Slave Cylinder. Torque Transmission Mount Bolts to 30 ft lbs.
Reinstall Driveshafts, torque bolts on flange/yoke to 40 ft lbs. Fill Clutch Master Cylinder with DOT-3 Brake & Clutch Fluid, Open Bleeder Screw on Slave Cylinder and bleed the air out of the system, close bleeder screw.
Reconnect the wires to the Starter, Reconnect the battery.

Does anyone know the head bolt sequence and torque numbers for a 1997 hyundai tiburon fx 2.0 model?


The Sequence is as follows:

<----Camshaft Sprocket
8 - 6 - 1 - 3 - 9
10 - 4 - 2 - 5 - 7

Tighten the 10mm bolts to 22ftlbs as you get to them in the sequence and the 12mm bolts to 26ftlbs.

Then go around the sequence again tightening every bolt an additional bolt 60 degrees.

Once again go around the sequence again tightening every bolt an additional bolt 60 degrees.

And you should be done.

I need to know what the cyl head torque and rocker arm torque is for a 1998 6.5 L GM turbo diesel.


Cylinder head bolts are done in 3 steps. Step 1 - 20 ft.-lbs
Step 2 - 50 ft.-lbs
Step 3: Tighten an additional
90 degrees.
Lifter guide plate bolts 18 ft-lbs
Rocker arm shaft bolts 40 ft-lbs

Want to replace plugs and ignition wires on a 2004,V-6, 2.7l Tiberon


The air handler you describe is called the 'surge tank' (or I perfer to call it the intake manifold). This manifold must be removed to access the 'rear bank' of plugs & wires on the 2.7 lit V6. There are three or four 12 mm bolts on the rear side of this tank (you'll have to feel for them) and the others are directly under your nose up front down the center of the engine (two long 12mm, three short 12mm and two 12mm nuts. You will want to purchase a new gasket for this manifold (recommended because reused gaskets have been know to leak - rare - but happens). When you put it back together, start all the bolts/nuts finger loose first, do not tighten the rear bolts until after you have torqued the main center-line manifold bolts first ( I believe the torque is 14 to 17 ft lbs) If you don't do these first, you could crack/damage the manifold.

1. Remove battery terminals and secure them away from the battery posts using nylon wire ties.

1a. Fine some comfortable eye glasses (clear or yellow) and keep them on. There are plenty of opportunities to get debris in your eyes during this procedure.

2. Spray "PB Blaster" (loosens bolts) on two bolts that secures alternator.

3. Jack-up vehicle on side to access alternator. Use a jackstand to support.

4. Using a 10mm open-ended wrench, loosen the bolt that swings the alternator. Screwing the bolt "in" or toward the engine will allow play to increase in the alternator belt. Loosen the 12mm bolt slightly next to the 10mm bolt (approximately 1.5" toward engine).

5. Continue to loosen 10mm bolt until there is enough slack in the belt to remove the belt from the alternator pulley.

6. Remove belt. It may be possible to remove belt without removing fan faring. Maybe not. If not, you will need to remove plastic fairing. If you must remove fair, go below fan fairing and disassemble connectors that hold together pieces of fan fairing. Carefully remove.

7. Install alternator fan from above.

8. Check that alternator belt is on all tracks (from below with a flashlight), and slowly tighten.

9. Secure 10mm and 12mm bolts. Recheck tightness.

10. Reassemble battery connection and run vehicle at idle for about 5 minutes. Check belt for proper tension.

11. CAREFULLY check tension of belt. Or disassemble battery connections and re-check belt tension.

12. Reassemble fan fairing (if not already assembled), re-connect battery terminals, and have a nice day. :-)
