I have a hpj6480 printer. It says paper jam. I've done everything, turned off removed every piece to clean out, pushed every imaginable button...still paper jam it reads....

Below are the causes of paper jam
  • Paper loaded incorrectly in the paper tray.
  • Damaged or dirty paper rollers.
  • Torn, wrinkled, or damp paper loaded in the paper tray.
  • The rear access door or two-sided printing accessory (duplexer) might not be closed or is not locked into place.
  • Paper was added to a stack already in the tray while the HP product was printing.
  • The tray contains more than one type of paper.
  • The paper is jammed inside the HP product where you cannot see it.
  • An obstruction is blocking the paper path.
  • Torn pieces of paper from a previous jam are stuck in the product.
  • The tray is too full.
  • If printing on an envelope, the edges of the envelope are bent.
Try steps provided in below link and check if paper jam is resolved.

You need to remove the small piece of paper. Try turning the rollers to free the paper, it will be tight to turn the rollers.

My HP laserjet 1012 smears the ink and wrinkles the paper on one side of the paper. What may be causing this problem?

Probalbly the upper fuser roller has some of the film torn off. Look close with a flashlight through the back of the machine.

It says there's a paper jam or a scanner misfeed..but there's nothing there

Paper stuck inside the HP All-in-One can cause jams or also sometimes there are some instruction that get stuck in the printer internal mechanism .
Power off the printer , unplug the power cable. Wait for 30 sec. , Replug the power cable. Power on the printer.
Check for a stuck paper or torn bits of paper.
Clear jam from the back of all-in-one
Press in the tab on the left side of the rear door to release the door. Remove the door by pulling it away from the HP All-in-One.Trying to clear a paper jam from the front of the HP All-in-One can damage the print mechanism. Always access and clear paper jams through the rear door.
Gently pull the paper out of the rollers. If the paper tears when you are removing it from the rollers, check the rollers and wheels for torn pieces of paper that might be remaining inside the device. If you do not remove all the pieces of paper from the HP All-in-One, more paper jams are likely to occur.
Replace the rear door. Gently push the door forward until it snaps into place.
Press OK to continue the current job.
Clear the jam from the automatic document feeder (ADF)
Paper can also jam in the automatic document feeder. Follow the steps below to clear a paper jam in the automatic document feeder(ADF)
Lift the cover of the automatic document feeder.
Gently pull the paper out of the rollers.
Reload and test the all-in-one
Once you have removed the jammed paper, verify that the all-in-one is still functioning properly.
Reload the all-in-one with either plain or photo paper.
Print a page from a memory card or the computer.
If you have completed all the steps listed above and are still experiencing a problem contact HP to service the product.

HP 4L printer indicates no paper when the tray has

When you removed the paper jam, was the paper torn? If so, did you ensure that you found all the pieces. (Put the piece of paper back together like a puzzle to verify). There could be a piece of paper stuck in the printer that is causing the paper sensor to fail.
The other possibility is that when you removed the paper jam, something became dislodged in the printer. Forcefully removing paper from the printer can cause this.

Several sheets of paper are stuck. How do I get them out?

First remove any paper not loaded from the tray - DO NOT use force!

The following is from the HP Website:

Clear a paper jam from the back of the All-in-One
  1. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the product.
  2. Remove the rear access door: Press the tab to the right, and then pull out the door. Figure 1: Remove the rear door c00652942.gif
  3. Gently pull the paper out of the rollers inside the product. CAUTION: If the paper tears when removing it from the rollers, check the rollers for torn pieces of paper that might remain inside the product. If any torn pieces of paper remain inside the product, more paper jams are likely to occur.
  4. Replace the rear access door. Gently push the door toward the product until it snaps into place.

Paper-stuck errors

1. turn printer off and back on, maybe it can solve problem itself. if it gives you a specific error code, check manual for its meaning. 2. turn printer off 3. remove paper trays, check for any wrinkled or torn papers in there. 4. open all entrances to achieve reaching ways for all parts. 5. if needed, remove tuner. put it in a sealed bad to prevent damage. 6. if you see a stuck piece of paper, pull it strong, with both hands. your goal is to keep it from tearing to pieces. 7. if it gets torn, spin the wheels manually to release it, do not use force. 8. return the tuner, close all entrances. 9. if it happens again, dismantle it again and follow the paper route.
